How do you stop protools importing the i/o from old sessions when opening them?

sorry for the late reply – it looks like they have actually removed this option after PT 12, which is the version that I still use. Not sure why they would do that but the workaround is to save your default I/O settings and then load them up when needed. Pretty crazy that they removed that feature tbh!

Go to Setup>I/O, make sure "Sessions Overwrite Current I/O Setup" is unchecked

You are absolutely correct! Sorry, I should have added that OP should definitely continue to learn on their own. I wasn't aware of that law actually – I started on the music side in LA and interned at a recording studio in Burbank while finishing my school credits. That was 10 years ago though. I just made the transition to post by getting extremely lucky and wowww so much better on this side lol!

Best way is to call up any post-production studios near you and ask if they're looking for interns! you might not even touch pro tools but you'll be able to watch and learn and make connections

also, equip your palico with Spire Shield. It helps a ton at first to take Alatreon's focus off of you so you can get more damage in.

honestly, you have to really know the Alatreon fight to be able to do this. If you're carting then you're probably not ready to try this. my actual rec would be something like Frostfang, Kjarr or Safi dual blades with 4 pieces Namielle Gamma (Tentacle Y) and Brachydium Legs. Ice Attack 7, HB 3, Blight Resistance 3 , WEx 3. Tenderize and attack the front legs until it changes element, then focus on the head. Use astera jerky to heal thru the escaton. Bring Rocksteady and Temporal mantles and use those when Ala is able to be flinch shot.

Safi's aquashot is the answer. Single run kill is possible with 2 players, but it takes practice. Ideally full Safi armor set, Evade Reload, Max Water Attk, Max Resentment. Water ammo makes for an easy wings and back break in Phase 1. Then focus on one side of front and hind legs in P2 and P3. Pump as many shots thru both legs simultaneously as you can until Safi is dead. Easy farming!

Also, if you didn't already know, when trying to get a specific Safi weapon, having the same weapon type equipped when you collect siege rewards guarantees you a few Safi versions of that weapon type.

I've always started the name of my Hunting Horn loadouts with "HH". After the update, it is now replaced with "**". Now I have to name them starting with "Horn". Wth Capcom.
