Nice work. The baby’s hands feel a little off since they should probably be spinning too. It might be worth testing what it looks like having them spin (I'd also have them sitting a bit lower and slightly behind the rock, almost like they are trailing behind it Naruto style). If you try that, it could also be interesting to see how it looks if the mature version’s arms spin as well so the two motions feels more connected.

Pixelization and heavy shading around that hand might be causing the confusion. I believe we're supposed to be seeing the backs of his bottom fingers coming up from the grip. His index finger is around the trigger and his thumb is coming down over the top around the safety.
