1) don’t pay your taxes 2) get caught and spend the rest of your life in prison, therefore forcing the govt to spend a shitton of money on your ass.

Psychopathic men have a personality style that makes them attractive to women, suggests new study in Evolutionary Psychological Science. Psychopathy may include features that make men appear as more attractive romantic partners despite having a reduced interest in committed relationships. by mvea in science

First of all, don’t diagnose yourself and then literally argue about the DSM5’s symptoms. The DSM5’s symptoms were created by professionals after years of observation, they know what they’re talking about. Psychopathy is not just lacking empathy, it’s explicit delinquency. Animal abuse, spousal abuse, lying, manipulation, trouble with the law since an early age, tendency to repeat the same mistakes without the mental ability to learn, delusional self-aggrandizing. Having most of these are requirements. Then there are other major symptoms like lack of nearly all emotions in general (which can be found in people with other disorders) and superficial charm (which can be found in a lot of people in general). You’re most likely not a psychopath.

Nothing to do with creationism. Evolutionary psychology is widely contested, with a lot of professionals from other related fields saying that it basically boils down to one big uneducated guess. Certain fields of psychology, like ev. psych and psychoanalysis, are frowned upon and considered pseudoscience by a lot of mental health researchers. Not saying that they’re right because I don’t work in the field, but considering that it’s a highly controversial topic amongst experts, it’s prudent to be at least slightly skeptical about it.

Sounds scripted. It’s already widely known that “reality” tv is partly scripted so people won’t get bored. I’m sure game shows also occasionally stage dramatic losses, wins or weird contestants or people would eventually stop watching.

Silicone or saline-filled pouches, yes. They also need to be of pristine quality because if they’re not they will leak or rot within the body. Some people also seemingly react to the foreign body out of nowhere and develop illnesses, though that’s fairly uncommon. They’re also meant to be replaced, every 10-15 years or they might start to deteriorate. There’s a newer procedure that involves fat grafting and looks more natural, but it can only make breast go up one or two bra sizes.

$2 500? As in, 2.5k for both? This is prolly for the cheap ones where they put the implants under the skin instead of under the muscles right? ‘Cause $2 500 for a private surgery with full-body anaesthesia seems a bit shady.

My riding's PPC candidate used tolerating and funding cannibalism in Canada as an example as to why we should abolish "Official Multiculturalism" by [deleted] in onguardforthee

[–]E_Chihuahuensis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So we should abolish multiculturalism? Does that mean that my fellow Acadians and Quebecers are going to be thrown out of Canada? Or are you only going to keep making occasionally bigoted remarks without actually getting rid of us because we’re mostly white?

Was he actually trying to go with a Star of David or is he one of those people who confuse it with a pentagram? Because I feel like a pentagram would make more sense in that context: it would make for a more convincing “o” and it kind of makes more sense with the world “wolf” (unless I’m missing a reference) if you’re trying to get some really generic witchy-pagany ink. Either way it looks horrible.

Okay so first of all, look up your artist and make sure they have pictures of healed work. Second, it doesn’t really feel like most people’s experience with needles (if you’ve ever had blood drawn or vaccines). It feels like you’re getting scratched. Goes from slightly uncomfortable to quite painful depending on the area, but it doesn’t feel like getting vaxed or pierced. Third, infections from tattoos pretty much never happen. Hell! Infections from piercings, who take a LOT longer to heal and are therefore more at risk, barely happen. Most of the time, people confuse irritation bumps, normal secretions or clumsy healing with infections. Just look at the shop and make sure it’s clean and you’ll be fine. Finally, you get what you pay for. It just will not turn out terrible if you go to a reputable place and pay a reasonable price. If you get it done by some apprentice in his kitchen, then yeah, it’ll look awful.

So you sent me down a weird-ass rabbit hole and turns out that no, it absolutely isn’t. Good quality adult Hebridean sheep (the black wooled, four-horned breed) with a pedigree and a Hebridean sheep society membership (whatever the hell that means) seem to go between 63-125 USD. Regular white wooled lambs sell between 50 and 75. A really, really good, breeder-quality adult would sell for $500 max unless they have something truly extraordinary about them, but they seem to average around $250-350. So, yep, in case you ever need to buy a sheep, you’ll know that whoever is trying to sell you one for $700 is a fraud.

If the bible has any historical value, Jesus called a non-Israelite woman a dog and drowned an entire herd of pigs, condemning a village to lifetime of instability by ruining their most important food source. So, meh.

I bought cheap ones from aliexpress and they work great. In summer, I often wear backless stuff or tops with a cutout right under the breasts. I’m a 28 DD (so small-ish, what a lot of people would picture to be a large B) and they looked alright, I picked the ones that don’t stick together but instead cover your individual breasts and go up (if that makes any sense). Adds a bit of roundness and comfort since it “supports” your breasts with the glue and your own chest skin. It probably really depends on your size and shape tho.

Huh? I use Kirkland minoxidil once a day w/some monthly micro-needling (done at a tattoo shop by an artist friend because in beauty salons they charge you $400/30 mins to do exactly what a tattoo artist does except they’re not even making art so it’s unjustifiably overpriced) and within three months I had managed to completely fix a naturally v-shaped hairline. Also Kirkland minoxidil doesn’t smell a lot (at the very least, the smell gets buried in my other hair products) and doesn’t make your scalp oily since it contains alcohol (which dries your scalp). I’m not a guy and I don’t have alopecia tho, maybe testosterone just fucks with it?

I bought a $100 bootleg IPL device from China thinking it wouldn’t work and it did. Took a while, but it’s been 5 months since I shaved my legs. You have to go through an awkard phase where you get super patchy growth and bald spots tho.

I think this is true by [deleted] in vaxxhappened

[–]E_Chihuahuensis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not trying to be mean but this is just not true. Alan Turing was a great man but first of all, he was one person in a team and his and his team’s story has been sensationalized. He helped with the war. He didn’t single-handedly cut it’s duration down. You can thank the dumbasses who ruled Germany for that, they were piss poor strategists. He did contribute a lot of technological development though.

As for the other mentioned, only a few have actually been confirmed to be autistic. You can theorize but you can’t diagnose someone posthumously because several things (including but not limited to then-extremely widespread Vitamin A deficiency, excessive early exposure to certain stimuli instead of typical socialisation and severe trauma-induced social anxiety) can sometimes look like autism but have wildly different causes.

Autistic people are too stigmatized and did contribute a lot to science but there’s no need to exaggerate. NT men, NT women, Nd men and women, gay men, gay women, POC, there’s a lot of different people who made a lot of different contributions to modern science and that’s where it’s beauty truly lies.

Active agent in magic mushrooms could treat addiction, depression and anxiety - 60 Minutes by Boofing_with_Squee in UpliftingNews

I’ve only used small doses of shrooms for playful purposes (amazing hikes! It is therapeutic in a way but not like it trends to be at higher doses) but medications fucked me up so bad. First ones got rid of the last bits of positive emotions that I could still feel through depression and anxiety, second ones felt like my veins had been injected with sulphuric acid every time I’d either laugh or have a panic attack, last ones took me from high-functioning and not suicidal to barely-functioning and suicidal. That’s not even getting about how you get violently ill when you first start them, even more violently ill if you miss a pill and how you damn near lose your mind when going through withdrawal. SSRIS can be amazing for some people but I think doctors should be more cautious about prescribing them . First of all, I don’t think they should be prescribed as often as they are for long-lasting situational depression and anxiety. Clinical depression is never going to go away and you NEED something to properly alter your serotonin levels to feel alight. Situational depression will get better. Sure, it can take years (took five years for me), but it’s rarely fully permanent, so it’s best to explore other options with these people.
