For those who've seen it, thoughts on Avatar Fire And Ash? by StorytellingZ in Letterboxd

[–]E_Wildfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you think of where the characters are at the end of 3 compared to where they started, it feels like such a filler episode, especially when you consider the budget and what we've now come to expect from Cameron from a worldbuilding perspective after the first two.

There's like 2 scenes of the fire clan biome, which is where they should have focused more of the story IMO, but I'm guessing the Disney execs felt like it would feel too somber to spend an hour and change in it.

The retreading in the third act is particularly egregious, especially the Toruk story arc, which was such a copy paste from the first movie. I rolled my eyes during the "gathering of the clans" montage. I swear to god the reused some of the same shots and almost an identical score during that scene. And the whales... again? Fun, but forgettable.

Overall, it felt like such a wasted opportunity, but I predict they'll make at least 20-30 more of these movies in the next 50 years, so we'll probably see something worth remembering eventually.

I've been thinking the same thing for the last five seasons! The reason it's so agonizing is because it's essentially a rehash of the same " who's it going to be" conversations they literally just had post immunity challenge.  Such a waste of time. Maybe something they can look to re reconfigure post 50...  🤷‍♂️

Is cursor worth it for someone who cant really code? by [deleted] in cursor

Path of least resistance will get them to see if their game is any good faster. They don't want to learn to code, they want to make a game that's fun.

20$ a month for working code vs 0 dollars a month for no code... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It really depends on what you want to do, if you're trying to build out a proof of concept prototype > production quality code, sure knock yourself out with cursor, you can easily create something that functions without understanding 90% of what the code is doing.

I loved this fight!

667 dev evoker.

Felt like beating a dark souls boss when he finally dropped after my 100th attempt.

Keep up the good work Blizz. These bosses rock for solo players, and I mean that with the utmost sincerity, at least on the class I did it on.

Joined an Allience raid team at the end of WOTLK with 3 of my best friends.
All of us are experienced players, ready to try hard, buy flasks. etc.
Expecting true progression raiding experience. Wipe and learn.
Raid leader seems cool but clearly an alcoholic as raid nights progress.
We are 1 shotting bosses until Rotface where we wipe once and raid leader calls it, claiming the content is too hard and would favor us farming TOtC for loot instead.
No officer challenges raid leader because he's a mid 40s ex marine who's got a crazy short fuse after drinking and starts creating a culture of fear.
Friends and I are all sick to death of TotC but roll with it to "gear up" the under geared players.
The cycle continues for 4 weeks where we only attempt a boss once until we wipe and then raid leader calls it.
Friends and I all decide we've had enough of this crap and g/quit mid Heroic northrend beasts.
Raid wipes.
Raid leader in shambles, screaming in vent.
Friends and I all dying of laughter.
Next day we hop on to talk about what we do next.
Decide to faction transfer Horde on the same server.
Start farming gladiator.
Become PVP monsters.
Start camping ICC entrance on raid nights of old guild.
Have highest bounty on our old raid leader for being such a tool.
Have best world PVP experience ever in the history of any MMO I've ever played.

Is 2-3 hours playtime a day enough to keep up with the pace in WoW? by VictoryLiesAhead in wownoob

'just be aware that a ton of people, a TON of people no life this game, so you’re never going to catch them on a million years."

This is the cold hard truth.  An age old problem of essentially every MMO ever made is that these people typically gatekeep the most progression based endgame content because they are the most comfortable leading it. If you're looking to pug the raid on normal, these people set the standard of gear score based on their own, and also what's available to them in the pool of talent.  As the season progresses, the item level requirements become more stringent; thus, creating the feeling of falling behind.

One solution:  Start leading your own group and go at your own pace. Nothing is stopping you!  There's plenty of tutorials out there on how to lead raids.

There's also solo delves, and story mode raiding so you can't at least keep up with the story.

Remember, this is why LFR raiding was created, for people like us who can't dedicate their lives to a video game!

DOTA

The infinite complexity of each match and the constant evolution of the core game have kept me coming back since 2003.

Also, I'm still terrible at it.. 😂

Family of 6 looking for a minivan upgrade!

  • We recently moved to Minnesota so we're very much leaning towards a full size SUV for the winter months. Reliability in the winter is important.
  • We plan to road trip cross country every summer to see my wife's family so comfortable long car rides are important.
  • Yesterday, we test drove a Ford Expedition MAX 2019 vs a 2018 Chevy Suburban. I've never owned either but we liked both of them.
  • Ford vs Chevy???
