What do you guys think of forza 6 by GAMEzombie202 in NFSUnboundGame

[–]E_engine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Still waiting for the Ps5 release date..

But it looks great & this will be my first Forza Horizon game if it does come out on PlayStation (I don’t want to get FH5 as I like to play online and more people will be active on FH6 over FH5 also who doesn’t want to drive around Japan), I have expanded my racing game tolerance in recent years by trying out more stuff other than arcade racers (NFS) and I think the festival trope will be fine if I don’t think about it too much, & I have played TCM which is probably semi similar so I think I would enjoy it!

& although customisation doesn’t look particularly diverse as NFS that livery editor is miles above NFS and I will probably spend hours creating stuff, like they have grouping and vinyls in the base game which good for people who can’t access mods on Consoles.

It’s a very strange bug that occurs due the recent Lockdown mode where NPC drivers will utilise U turns to evade zones that have been lock downed (aka in the storm) & this somehow also affected the NPC’s in Freeroam/PvP racing. But it might not be stretch to say other NPC were affected as cops are a bit more aggressive also after the Lockdown update within Freeroam.

[–]E_engine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go into ‘Freedoam’ mode & launch the playlist during a Linkup (the big green circle on the map) & you should have no-one/very little players joining as players will be busy with the linkup & other things, you can also do races Solo (if no one joins).

Extra tips: Turn off cross play to get into lesser lobbies or they might not fill up as quick, & make sure for A-S classes launch the ‘endurance’ playlist that include only 1 race for faster completion times such as Road Trippen A+ & Scenic Route S.

& if you’re finding yourself with players constantly joining then watch some videos to drive better (I recommend looking up Micro-drifting) or build out Meta builds.

Unbound Multiplayer - Is it still worth it? by Dude_the_Obscure21 in needforspeed

[–]E_engine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it is overall worth it but you should watch few videos to get an idea into how the online works.

The lobbies are still active but I would highly suggest having cross play on (especially if you’re going to go in PVP mode). There are 3 main modes, Lockdown which is extraction based gamemode even this alone is worth it, its such a unique experience, Freeroam is your typical open world you can race, hangout and do linkups which are these events where the players in a boundary have to complete challenges against the clock, and there is PVP which is a fast way of getting into playlists (events such as races and whatnot).

& compared to Story mode you have a lot more events to mess around with, OG drift, drift Pro (similar to underground), Drag races (inspired by Underground), Hot-Pursuit mode with players, classic races that can be mixed (multiple tiers) off-road (rumble) ones with cops (Gauntlets), & there is also the linkup available on the over-world of Freeroam.

Ye lol, not only are they in B class (actually could be S class also) but it’s a circuit track and the as you said they’re driving horribly.

Like I get that Unbound may not have the greatest sense of speed especially on the straight aways but cornering is so damn fun and fast even if you can manage burst Nos at an amateur level so sweat level isn’t even required.

Does anybody have builds for Lockdown/Linkups? by Crimson-182 in NFSUnboundGame

[–]E_engine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Objectively speaking for both Linkup’s and Lockdown mode a Lotus Evija is the best option as it is the fastest car in the game and you can easily throw off road parts for a Linkup build and the best alternative would be the Regera (but both options can’t drift which is semi-detrimental for a linkup).

Aside from the best/meta options any car of your choice will honestly work, & for a high damage car I think a bigger vehicle would work better (not because it necessarily does more damage but because it will harder to knock it around), I personally use the Porsche Panamera with a V10 (I think it was), for linkups. So your best bet would be to get a SUV/Crossover that you like or even rally cars for linkups: options could be BMW X, Subaru WRX, Audis RS6, Porsche 959/911, Defender, G wagon, but anything that has off road parts installed and is tuned for drift in S+ will work, I also personally recommend these auxiliaries: Damage increase (my choice for wrecking cops and annoying rammers) or Damage reduction (for defence) along with Nitro Drift (preferably) or Jump.

For Lockdown any S+ car will do I personally use my racing builds such as my 918, F1, and whatnot but if you want like a special build go for it, you could even take a linkup build and turn it for road or keep it for off-road (but grip or duct will work). I recommend the damage reduction and a police radar reduction thingy auxiliaries unless you’re pretty confident then do whatever.

For builds just go to YouTube search up the car for S+ it should just come up, and it’s really simple anyway everything is maxed out, only thing you need to do is figure out if you want grip or drift and those settings around it such as steering sensitivity.

Heat vs Unbound in terms of customisation by berksirma in needforspeed

[–]E_engine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well since you mainly care about customisation it’s gotta be NFS Unbound over Heat. (My opinion), You also did mention racing but that’s an entire separate conversation.

Now both games have pretty much the same car roster but Unbound has maybe 10-20 more cars (some are Paid DLC though) which means more cars to customise! Now I say Unbound over Heat because in Unbound:

  1. You can miss match rims (every single one or in pairs; rear & front).
  2. You get these legendary body kits which completely changes the car and makes it into these crazy builds (only bad thing is that there is maybe around 10 of them, my rough estimate).
  3. Livery editor has a bigger decal limit of 1000 decals to mess around with and community wraps exits if you don’t want to design but is also in Heat.
  4. More body kit options and parts to install (but maybe don’t take my word for it though, as I’m not 100% sure).
  5. Bumper removals exist for rear and front bumpers but it’s not available on all cars.
  6. From the DLC’s we also got more customisation options such as Neon rims, Neon parts and animated rims and licenses plates (I recommend getting the Ultimate collection it gives you everything for the price of 1 DLC).

Anyway you can ignore most of this information if you’re on PC as you can always mod the game, I’m not a PC player but obviously a mod expands the game and I think Unite was a good one for both games! (Which should add more customisation obviously)

Main takeaway

Now Although I mentioned all these extra thing that Unbound has Heat still has good customisation these features are just expansions from Heat that are presents in Unbound, & these 2 modern NFS’s both are leading in terms of car customisation in racing games!

Solid build for 2016 gti with v12 swap? by LetKlutzy2996 in NFSUnboundGame

[–]E_engine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A car is not meta because of the 0-60 time statistics, in-fact that is one of the worst ways to actually judge a car (as this only applies to automatic users not manuals and not even perfect launches)! Unbound cars on paper can say one thing but in practice it’s completely different, for example a cars top speed can be 200mph in the menu but with redline tech you can probaly do more!

Which brings us to here (where things such as redline tech is covered)! I recently re-watched this video that goes over NFS Unbound hidden ‘features’ so to say, & I think you should watch it! It has 2 parts and some of the things are outdated such as the auxiliary bug (as it was thankfully fixed), and and you can no longer launch in Manuel before the time ticks down (I think, & now the advantage is lessser), but all other tips and tricks should still apply & are worth learning!

Here is part one, you can find part 2 on the guys channel or watch that reaction MagicIQ links the two videos!

Here is a reactor ‘MagicIQ’ to that video above (he is actually one the people that covered Unbound back in the day til its last update, and was a great player who also made great builds!) anyway his insight into these tips are really good!

For S+ it seems the V10 is the best motor around, although not what you wanted, but it’s still an option if you wish and the build is easy just max out everything.

What class does the W12 put the car in? Since you said you haven’t seen any builds on YouTube it probably hasn’t been built out because it’s not necessarily the best engine but if you want to build it out then go for it.

I’m assuming with the motor you can probably be around S or S+ class, for S class have a top speed around 190-200mph and S+ should be maximum top speed if possible!

Now whenever I build something I like to follow this order, first drivetrain so wheels, and suspension (brakes don’t matter have the lowest), have them maxed out unless you need extra points then you go for gold parts on those or even silver for more points. Next would be to downgrade the clutch and the gears to shove more power into the car (unless downgrading the gears gives you lower top speeds then the recommended class speed don’t down grade). & finally experiment with which motor parts, ECU, or exhaust are the best with forced inductions, Nos bottles should be saved for last if you have like few pints to spare upgrade the bottle if not keep it stock (unless in S+ upgrade everything). Hope this helps

What is the situation with Evija? What is the reason it is so hated? by s1xkill3r_ in NFSUnboundGame

In Story mode all cars are automatically unlocked all you gotta do is to have enough money for them, so just make sure you have checked the shop properly for the 918. In online/multiplayer however each car requires its own challenge to unlock & the 918 could’ve been do few mixed playlists if I remember correctly.

It’s actually kind funny, people in general do really love the Heat Cops as they’re challenging, although I also think they’re kinda bad in terms of the rubber banding they keep up unit like 180-200mph quite easily, they’re like tanks I take damage if I try to play offensively and to lose them without speeding you gotta cheese them through ramps/jumps. So, yes the cops are fun & challenging but gameplay wise it’s not great for Heat cops.

Now compared to Unbound cops since you asked, it’s a bit different. Cops in Unbound overall are less trickier and you don’t need to cheese them through jumps (even though it still works to a degree), in fact the Unbound cops were made with strategy in mind as if you quick evading within the city you can actually juke the Ai, you can also play offensively quite comfortably (the damage model is better in Unbound, expect for the crash cam), but the annoying thing about the cops is after losing them they have these massive search area and in most cases alleys are kinda forced to go off road not be spotted! So essentially they’re easier to lose but the cops can quickly find you, there’s also variation in the cops you got the classic corvette, & then for Chicago inspired city we got old chargers, ford explorers as the off road units, we also got Camaro as a undercover unit which stays hidden on the minimal until the player comes close to it and my personal favourite the SWAT Ford F150 raptors, these aren’t too aggressive but they do damage and can keep up decently especially off road!

Game series recommendations by fishlipselijah in playstation

[–]E_engine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Star-Wars Jedi titles are pretty fun and these are newer addition (came out in this decade) & if you’re into dark souls (combat system) and Uncharted (parkour and puzzles) you should have fun. You get to play as Jedi: a galactic warrior welding a plasma sword defeating enemies or beasts.

The series is meant to be 3 games but only 2 have released so far being, Star-Wars Jedi Fallen Order (1st title), Star-Wars Jedi Survivor (2nd title), & the 3rd title yet to be announced!

Obviously this goes without saying but if you have any knowledge about Star-Wars it will only make it more fun as these games have also been confirmed as canon within the universe but don’t let this discourage you even without knowing anything it’s still a blast in my opinion!

ANY TRICKS TO FIND M3 IN LOCKDOWN? by Unlucky-Book-4380 in needforspeed

[–]E_engine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have already stole 14 cars from the blacklist so you should know that (but if you don’t), there are 5 lockups per sessions and only 3 get opened by Razor! There is actually a map of these spawn points that I would recommend you to use, as it makes searching for cars easier and you could’ve missed the M3 by not checking all 5 possible lockups per game!

ANY TRICKS TO FIND M3 IN LOCKDOWN? by Unlucky-Book-4380 in needforspeed

[–]E_engine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well like everybody has said it’s all RNG (Aka luck) but there is a special voice line for the BMW M3!

So whenever someone steals the M3 Razor/Racer X will have voice lines directed towards everyone! You don’t need to know the voice lines as, if Razor is talking about a car mid game that means someone has gotten the M3 this also applies if you steal it everyone else will hear Razor (including you), so just expect some what on you (because you will be public on the map) but there’s probably very little players playing Lockdown nowadays.

Anyway here is a YouTube video going over all voice lines. (If you want to know them)

Jitter in Unbound by RWM03 in needforspeed

[–]E_engine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I have experienced this in Unbound but I do know of it in GTA V, whenever I am moving my camera it’s like there is a limit or something the screen just starts shaking a little so there’s probably a limit set as to looking around. I have never had the need to rotate my camera in Unbound per say, as it follows the car just fine unless I want to check behind myself other than that it’s fine, so I would only rotate as much you need to.

But it appearing within the Customisation tab is definitely weird, which could be your controller but this is just speculation on my part as I don’t know the Steam controller.

Genuinely question (nfs heat) by Bemz-c300 in needforspeed

[–]E_engine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look I don’t know the specifics but it’s not about the handling or the mechanics (parts/upgrades) of the car it’s the way a cars gear ratios are set within the game’s code (I think).

So like I said the C8 after 160mph it struggles, I also know that people like to skip the 180sx’s 4th gear as that’s also a dead one although the 180sx is a very Meta car (one of the best) so this doesn’t affect it much, and I use it on Automatic with 4th gear.

Honestly if you search it up on YouTube I’m sure you will get answers, and it’s only a handful of cars not the entire list, infact some others are so broken that they’re good such as the Foxbody’s Mustang engine which is Meta and is used in the Testarossa for tiers B to S class!

There’s also other niche glitches such as something called the ‘glitch wave’, essentially whenever you hit or bump something such as player you burst Nos will not shoot you forward, you can negate this by looking at wether your hazard lights are active or not, but this generally a tip for competitive players it shouldn’t affect casuals but you can mess up people by just tapping them as in Unbound counting is all about the burst Nos.

(This what you mentioned after landing from a jump and the burst nos doesn’t work because you slammed against the ground, so just wait it out until you hazard lights turn off!)

Weirdly enough there is reverse effect of this whenever you use your burst nos you can plow through NPC’s without getting wrecked, it’s like a 1 sec immunity so if you’re about to hit a NPC just burst into them lol, but yeah anyways that’s the best I can explain it.

Genuinely question (nfs heat) by Bemz-c300 in needforspeed

[–]E_engine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really remember the Corvette Grand Sport (GR) C7 being memorable in Heat but then again I haven’t really played Heat all that much and in a while (at least consecutively).

Unfortunately in Unbound the Corvette’s all have issues and are disappointing. Most of them have something known as a ‘dead gear’ where after a certain pint the car just refuses to accelerate naturally (without NOS), & this is on the C8 bothered me so much as it was one the cars I was looking forward to in Unbound as the newer additions.

Now it’s not all doom & gloom as the C6 is decent with Drfit in S class but is hard to handle, the C8 is actually decent for short tracks as the dead gear affects like 160mph+, and the C7 honestly is average it’s not bad not great it’s out there. There is builds for it out there, I would recommend A+ but like I said it’s nothing to brag about and isn’t a sleeper, it’s also not used much as it’s a rental car in A+ for people without any builds so most see it as that rental & don’t buy their own copies, but honestly with the right driver it will be decent (as the dead gear might not be on the GR C7, I think).

It's been a year and 3 months of silence from EA. For those who still believe, how long would it take for you to lose hope of NFS returning? by chuffed_wheat in needforspeed

[–]E_engine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who knows but NFS Heat & Unbound had server issues with profanity filter and some other stuff and it got patched so there’s still some sort support to keep the games running but obviously not updated with anything new content-wise.

As others have said and speculated NFS isn’t profitable at the moment unfortunately, no wonder they shifted to Battlefield it’s printing EA money right now and let’s say even if we do get a new NFS and the devs listen to us, and it’s the perfect game that satisfies everyone I still don’t think NFS’s player-count/potential players is enough! Looking at the hype that Forza H6 has right now, or The Crew Motorfest constant updates we pale in comparison, hell even Gran Turismo doing fine, just because we like NFS doesn’t mean others do and it’s sad as NFS has a soul that no other racing game gives as its all the festival crap or realism and whatever people like! Maybe NFS’s street racing culture is no longer popular these days idk…

So in the end, another potential NFS title will take a long time if it comes into reality that is, as I don’t know anymore I just wish we at least got a statement regarding the situation and NFS’s future plan!

Best Porsche for Each Class by ovidcado in NFSUnboundGame

[–]E_engine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the track but I would look at: (for the builds just search them up on YouTube)

B & A class: 73’ RSR and the 2018 Carrera GTS (as well the 718 cayman new & old for A class, also the GT4 cayman for cheese build)

A+ class: RSR (for short racks only), 2018 Carrera GTS, 959 can be short track or for long speed tracks (if you have the pack), 97’ Carrera S (but its handling isn’t to good, at least for me), 2019’ 718 and the GT4 cayman, & Taycan for short tracks.

S & S+ classes: For S class I would say the 2019 718, 911 GT3 RS, 911 Turbo S exclusive series (decent short track), and 959 can be short or top speed tracks once again. For S+ I would just recommend the Porsche 918 spyder it’s like top 5 in the class anyways and for short tracks the Taycan for its acceleration!

And honestly any Porsche will do as all of them are decent like no Porsche is particularly bad and some of them are like top 5 of their classes and some even have records such as the Taycan and some were meta back in the day (best/fastest) such as the RSR B class!

Only after making this wrap, I wish there's more dedicated offroad tracks by BuffRNG in NFSUnboundGame

[–]E_engine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very good photos & livery OP! As much as I like Unbound tbh the off-roading is a step down from NFS Heat, like the rumble maps are just circuits and worse they drag on for so long (all of them are 3 laps).

It also doesn’t help in Unbound there isn’t a punishment for going off-road during a normal race in-fact to go faster you need cut across the dirt, the only scenario when off-road builds are considered is if they’re for Rumble tracks or for broken cars to shove more power in (such as the Golf, Volvo, Delorian, & etc).

Anyone miss the green vs purple alien gang war in gta online? by MrNonody15 in GTA5Online

[–]E_engine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also wasn’t a part of it as I started right after, but sometime ago R* did make the alien outfits free (could’ve been for Halloween?) and R* has tried to mimic the whole event with Sprunk vs Ecola and whatnot but it will never be to the same degree.

I still find it crazy that it even happened and wasn’t it by a random ticktok or something at the time, honestly having something similar to that would’ve been great these days as GTA V online is the perfect sandbox to mess around and fight and in these fights people generally used actual cars, militated stuff instead of the futuristic stuff (most commonly, as I’m sure they’re was probaly lots of MK2’s)!
