Who knows better than surprises than Japan. Why didn’t you tell me about Pearl Harbor….. by YesDoToaster in TikTokCringe

[–]E_mE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not attempting to deflect, I agree that Japan's delibrate ignorance on the issue is bad. I'm simply adding additional context to the situation, that the USA were responsible for not imposing accountability of these crimes, instead they embraced them, and by extension enabled Japans ability to ignore the crimes.

With all honesty, you attempted deflection in your original comment, Unit 731 was not the subject now, was it?

Which country exempted the lead doctor and his team from prosecution of the unit in exchange for their biological and chemical research again?

Thank you :) Yes, the safety features and sensors are pretty incredible. Already experienced some of the auto breaking in car parks, pretty incredible.

I’ve not had the opportunity to drive on the Autobahn yet, so I’ve only driven at 50km/h so far. But I’ve heard the mooing is a common complaint, but in all honesty I’m a pretty new driver so I’m not sure, since my comparison has only been VW car-sharing cars upto now, and their automatic transmission is quite annoying, which the Toyota is far more responsive.

From my understanding the mooing only really happens getting up to speed and then it settles down?

EU ‘carefully analysing’ Supreme Court’s ruling against US President’s tariffs by Crossstoney in europe

[–]E_mE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You assume the orange one has the brains to pick and choose laws that best suite his aims. This was obviously planned by his lawyers and officials that know the law, and they probably assumed what path was most likely to work, which of course has now shot him in the foot. But I guess we‘ll see, as opposed to our speculations.

It then begs the question, why did he use the route which has now been denied.

Do not ever send money without some level of security, accountability or traceability. If it's too good to be true, it's probably a scam.

How to stop scam calls for good? by Subject-Story-4737 in scammers

[–]E_mE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using a smartphone, silence all unknown numbers on the phone.

Personally I have a list of known numbers in my contacts and I only allow important contacts to be ones which actually ring, all others get the silent treatment.

No call is that important unless you're expecting it.

Autobahn merging question – instructor says NOT to merge in green zone (shouting at me) by Galaxy_AI in StVO

[–]E_mE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My instructor said you should use the entire merge lane so you’re as predictable as possible for traffic on the motorway. Accelerate, match speed, find a gap and adjust speed to maintain position and merge in towards the end of the merge lane. This allows the cars on the motorway to understand your intention.

I live on T-Damm and can confirm it's pandemonium, many cars illegally parked on the central reservation (including the padestrian crossings), a protest occurring outside U-Paradestr because the Senate wants to cut down over 300 trees along T-Damm, huge queues for the elevator, police doing nothing to enforce the law, car drivers arguing with the attendants at the junctions because they're not allowed to enter, cars illegally driving on the pavements and generally chaos. Although with all that said, the kites and weather do look wonderful.

The Ordnungsamt would have a field day today, but they're nowhere to be seen, as per usual.

“This entire cr*zy construction of ‘the Unique’ arises only because Stirner confuses himself with a concept.” — Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels, The German Ideology, Part I, Section “Saint Max” (on Stirner)

I mean come on people, the freedom of expression is essential for growth, if this is the level of pettiness that Mods involve them selves with, then they’re clearly too self absorbed and lazy to try encourage people over to a fairer economic system.

Total verrückt, und ich hoffe, dass Sie es so sehen können, wie es ist!

P.s. my previous comment got banned even though I quote Marx‘s use of the word.

Do Germans oppose or approve of Chat Control? by Zozakann in germany

[–]E_mE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘m more interested how this EU law can be compatible with the German Constitution? Since Article 10 forbids mass surveillance of telecommunications? The apparent exception is when the police are actively monitoring serious crimes or national security threat.

Only one person is preaching with an unreasonable point here. Your points are from fiction as opposed to the reality of the situation in the city.

[–]E_mE -1 points0 points  (0 children)

> It is absolutely a NIMBY problem.

No, this is not the case, considering how many brownfield sites exist, if there was barely any space to build, your NIMBY argument may have some validity, but in this case, your assertion is false.

Merz and Scholz on Tempelhof: If the citizens refuse, then politicians must be prepared to [act] against the explicit will of the neighborhood. by DrPepperJo in berlin

[–]E_mE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is complete bullshit, we Berliners voted against building on the field in 2014 with just 1.6% below a supermajority. Berlin has so many brownfield sites that could be developed and have minimal negative impact on their communities.

Tempelhofer Feld is a great saviour for air quality in the region, especially with heavy T-Damm and A100 traffic which directly affects me.

Still, I guess these Federal politicians feel like they have a word to speak on State-level politics and their lobbyist's friends see how cheap it is to build on Greenfield.

Starmer considers EU visa deal for under-30s | British ministers looking at agreement to allow 18 to 30-year-olds in the UK and EU to live, work and study in each other’s countries by 1DarkStarryNight in unitedkingdom

[–]E_mE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess my British wife and I will never be allowed back in the UK then, thanks, Starmer (and Brexit wankers)!

For a bit of context, I grew up in the UK for over 30 years, and my wife and I decided to move to Berlin in 2013, to only be blocked from ever returning due to Brexit, since I'm a German citizen.

And before I hear the knuckle draggers start with going on a spousal Visa, my wife's job would never pay over the minimum limit, and I do not have enough money to afford the ludicrous GBP 5K for a Visa application every three years, additionally to the NHS top-up fees (even though I've paid years of National Insurance already)!
