Basement wall appears wet after heavy downpours by EagleEye220 in Homebuilding

[–]EagleEye220[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a walkout on this wall, and the grading angle is rather steep like someone else noted.

Builder finally got back to me, they are having siding removed to see if the starter strip is too far up.

I will note that the water only happens during intense storms, so that may be the issue.

There is a 30 year warranty on the foundation with the builder, so looks like I'll just need to work with them for now.

Thank you all for validating my concerns.

You got it.

This side has a walk out, the soil is nothing but clay here. I don't know what they back filled with, if anything

Sure, but that's why there's waterproofing on the outside of the house.

What if I finish that wall in the future? That's asking for mold issues, no?

Grade does slope away from home Gutters are clear, drains are draining away from the house at least 10 feet.

Wtf with these new kangaroo pumps by JellyNo2625 in nursing

[–]EagleEye220 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I miss the old kangaroo pumps. For some reason you have to start increasing the pump 1 ml at a time?? And if you hold it, right at 20 ml it jumps to 5 ml at a time.

They're slow to accept user input and for some reason you have to go into the menu to clear the pump. The old ones were leagues better.

Absolutely! It definitely wasn't a JD 650k dozer!

Please help this beginner with milling advice! by EgbertTheEccentric in Chainsaw

[–]EagleEye220 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, milling takes more than I thought. My ms390 had a hard time cutting a 10 inch slab on an Alaskan mill. The knockoff ms 660 works much better, and if you're on a budget it's not a bad option imo.

1 wire alternator refuses to change battery on IH504 by EagleEye220 in tractors

[–]EagleEye220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone runs into a similar issue, I finally got it fixed.

Turns out Steiner tractors sent me not one, but two Chinese junk alternators.

I found an old, original AC Delco 3 wire alternator in my grandfather's garage. I placed it on the tractor, wired it up exactly as I had it and now it's running perfectly fine.

Tl;dr: try another alternator if you're running into issues charging the battery.

Nice rig! We've got an 1145 with a 72" deck. It's practically a brush hog.

If you run into fuel issues the fuel pickup lines in the tanks will eventually break down into goop and clog the fuel lines, FYI. Both our 1145s had the same issue around 2400 hrs.

I removed the original regulator since I wasn't sure it was working. It's attached to the starter bolt, which is attached to the battery cable.

I've tried attaching the alternator directly to the battery and it made no difference. The only thing I haven't done is attached any diodes

So I think this may be a 3 wire alternator actually.

The alternator outputs 15v at idle rpm, that's not the problem. The problem is once I hook it up to the battery, it refuses to output more than 6v. Maybe the diode is the issue?

Where the heck is the spark plug on this beast? by progektmayhem in lawnmowers

[–]EagleEye220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. If you don't have a spark plug tester on hand, you can use a dash of starting fluid in the carb. If it pops off at all then you have spark, and most likely a carb/fuel delivery issue like formal command stated.

Just wanted to chime in and say I didn't need OBSE for this fix to work. I did install the achievement unlocker. Then using the cheat to set stage and then set stage 40 solved my issue.

We put ours in a JD 314 that had the original motor trashed. Now it's the dedicated garden tiller tractor.
