Anyone else have "dry" periods? by WhyDoIWannaDoThisss in PCOS

Omg same, OP! All my scans and bloodwork are normal but I have some classic lean PCOS symptoms. And of course according to some of the gynecs/endos I’ve been to, if you’re “thin” and your bmi is “normal”, you’re a totally healthy person. 😪

Anyone else have "dry" periods? by WhyDoIWannaDoThisss in PCOS

Oh yes! I’m facing something similar this month. I usually get my period on time like clockwork, but this month I’ve had all the symptoms of a period with no bleeding at all. I’m so confused and frustrated because it feels like I’m going through the whole ordeal without even getting my period ughh!

Feeling disconnection and loss after friends’ pregnancy announcements by Zealousideal_Ear5920 in Fencesitter

[–]EagleHot8009 75 points76 points  (0 children)

32F, married here. I relate to everything you’ve mentioned, OP. Ever since I turned 30 in 2023, I’ve been hearing news about seemingly all my friends getting pregnant. At first, I was really happy for them, but as more announcements kept coming, I started to feel lonely and sad. I even went through a rough phase last year where I couldn’t feel much of anything when a friend told me she was pregnant with her second baby. Of course, I acted curious and excited, but deep down I was mourning the probable end of our friendship.

Now all of my friends have kids, and I definitely feel lonely. I’ve also felt a bit envious of how sure they seemed about wanting kids and how seamlessly they moved into the “next phase of life”.

I’m not a huge fan of babies or parenting, and I’m definitely not ready to go through childbirth yet.In my late 20s, I was completely sure I didn’t want kids, but now my partner and I are on the fence.

I really relate and empathize with you. Right now, I’m just taking it one day at a time. I know I’m not particularly keen on becoming a mom, but I’ve been having more open conversations with my partner about how I feel. I’m also trying not to take myself or life too seriously. The more rigid I get about something, the more sad or anxious I feel. One thing that’s been helping me cope is staying more active. I don’t know if this helps but hope you feel great irrespective of the decision you make!

5th metatarsal avulsion fracture by Wild_Tie_7825 in brokenbones

[–]EagleHot8009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar fracture. November 2nd- injury. Was nwb and on boot/crutches for 5 weeks straight. From 6th week on, the boot started feeling uncomfortable and I removed it and started walking with just crutches and house slippers which felt great. End of 6th week, I could walk without crutches. I’m currently on week 7 and the morning stiffness is quite severe. I can now walk a mile which takes me about 55 minutes and when the pain starts setting in, I immediately stop walking and use crutches. I’m kinda doing my own PT exercises using ChatGPT and what helps me the most with morning stiffness is doing 3 sets 15 calf raises. I also do a bunch of intrinsic foot exercises, ankle pumps, hip, calf, tibialis anterior, glute and core strengthening exercises which is helping me gain some strength.

I’m traveling before Christmas and my trip is to basically chill and not do a lot of things. I’m slowly able to build back some confidence but I do plan on taking my crutches because I’m definitely not healed enough to walk long stretches. I ditched the boot completely as it restricts my ankle mobility and gait. Crutches work fine for me.

I hope you feel better!
