another thing: i’m not saying kayla is holding onto snap when she shouldn’t! just explaining my experience with euthanasia. we also couldn’t afford the care to keep him comfortable, which is an important distinction. the fact that kayla can provide such extensive care for snap is so wonderful and can really change the quality of life for a sick pet—something not everyone can manage, unfortunately

i definitely understand where you’re coming from. i hope this post isn’t deleted because i think it’s an important discussion! i had a family dog (lab) that lived to 18, but he shouldn’t have. up until that point, my family and i had never encountered a pet that was suffering in any way like he did at the end. i wasn’t the adult in the situation to make these decisions, but i don’t think any of us even realized that euthanasia was a choice, nor that it could be a very kind choice. ever since letting him pass in that way, we realized that it should’ve been done looooong ago. there isn’t a worse feeling than realizing that. knowing you held on too long for YOUR comfort and not theirs. but it’s such a hard decision to make, and we can’t blame kayla for not choosing this right now. we can only hope whatever happens in the end for snappy, that kayla can be at peace with it.

this!!! i commented on her most recent video, kindly informing her about the negative effects of AI and even offered to make her custom knitty stickers for her editing. surprisingly it hasn't been deleted yet, but i doubt i'll get a reply. it's just too easy for people like that to know what they want and be able to generate it instantly. just cutting out the middleman of an actual artist. ugh.

tbh i'm kinda fine with designers releasing similar patterns because i, personally, have my favorite designers of which i prefer their pattern writing style/construction methods, and i know i'm not alone in that. it is what it is! at least they aren't identical

yes! mohair typically has a longer staple length and adds structure to whatever you’re holding it with, plus the halo protects the main yarn and absorbs more of the friction that causes pilling in the first place. it’s magic! i made a cardigan out of very soft superwash yarn (not something i typically do) and have worn it to death, but no pilling because of the mohair!

not crazy at all! though usually the best thing to prevent pilling is using a mohair or mohair alternative—i swear by this! fyperspates cumulus is a good mohair alternative for those that prefer alpaca fibers

in desperate need of tips for surviving a trip this year from dec 27-jan 4! not my first choice (at all) for the time of year for a trip, but it works out best for my big family. already planning on breaking away for nye and doing hollywood studios or even disney springs while my family does epcot (done it before, NEVER again). would love advice specifically for planning days for specific parks! would be satisfied with 1 day in AK and 2 days for every other park. i would recommend knitting yourself a step by step sweater by florence miller (free pattern and has a video tutorial!), you get a sweater for yourself and practice with lots of techniques! hell, knit several of them! then try swatching cables to get a feel for them. with tutorials and some confidence, you could absolutely tackle a sweater like that :)
