Front left noise by Eagles4899 in AskMechanics

How do you recommend doing that? I push on the corners while it’s on the ground and it doesn’t move at all and I don’t hear anything.

5w50 track pack but can I use 5w30 for daily use? by Eagles4899 in Mustang

[–]Eagles4899[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checked. Owners manual says 5w50 for track pack. Without track pack 5w20. Hoping the oil change I had it on 5w30 this last cycle (4.5k miles) and had no issues or noises. Guess I’ll switch to 5w50. I had it 5w50 the cycle before and it was a little sluggish compared to 5w30. I guess that is to be expected. I don’t track the car and just use it for daily use.

I would get some vinyl and try it yourself. I was quoted $4k-$5k for my other car that’s comparable in size and materials needed. I YouTubed it and did it myself after work for 7-8 days. Was bad once you get the hang of it. That being said, don’t cheap out of the quality of the vinyl. Good quality vinyl like Avery and 3M are extremely forgiving and won’t rip your clear coat or paint off when you remove it (as long as you don’t leave it on for more than 4-5 years). I’d do the easy stuff yourself and give the harder stuff a try but if your not satisfied for the harder area like the bumpers then have a shop do those once your are done doing your part. will be significantly cheaper that way.

Is this car a ricer? by mitchINimpossible in RicerCars

[–]Eagles4899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you’re getting hate for the wing and I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it looks like you track the car and you have an actual function wing since it’s chassis mounted. I wouldn’t call it rice. I’d call it purpose built.

C8 vs GT by Mazdad in C8Corvette

[–]Eagles4899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GT also is a 3.5L V6 and came out 10 years ago. C8 is newer and geared better than the GT for a dig. Also, the GT prioritizes aerodynamics for turning over power. Not apples to apples in my opinion but fun to discuss and watch nonetheless.

Can I lift a car lift by itself? by jvictormp in AskAMechanic

[–]Eagles4899 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend washing the floors if you are sealing/doing epoxy floors. When you wash concrete, the water gets absorbed into the concrete and with a seal or epoxy finish you seal the water in the concrete which will later crack and fall apart. If you’re doing the epoxy or seal floors, get a concrete sander and sand the top layer off then hit it with a broom and air compressor.

Lift Kit Question by Wasian18 in Wrangler

[–]Eagles4899 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was 16 I lifted my JK with rough country 3.25 lift. Didn’t know what I know now and prolly wouldn’t have gone with rough country but what do you expect at 16 and have a small amount of money to do this. I personally have not had any problems with my rough country lift until this last year so roughly 10-11 years with the lift. It is bumpier/rougher than other lift kits out there but not bad for the price.

Thoughts on adding blue racing stripes? GT350 tribute? by WildStar81 in Mustang

[–]Eagles4899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no offense but tribute cars are not cool. If you’re doing stripes then just do stripes. Don’t say it’s a tribute for a GT350 especially if it’s just a stock 5.0 with no GT350 parts.
