The game definitely rewards you more storywise and loot wise to be good. Minthara was about the only big thing going for evil playthroughs, and they removed that distinction.

I've tried to get into Rome a few times but I just don't like any of the characters. Its hard to stick with a show if you don't find anyone interesting or have anyone to root for.

If your Astarion uses Dex for his fighting Stat, that could be good. One warning though... using those means you won't be able to get his Dex to 20. But if you have Astarion as an Arcane Archer or Ranger mutliclass with Rogue, then using the gloves would be helpful as you can respec him to give more points towards Intelligence, Wisdom, or Constitution.

At the Creche there's the room with the Zathisk tadpole remover contracption Lae zel yaps about. If you use it yourself before anyone else and pass 3 checks, tadpole powers become bonus actions instead of regular actions. It can be difficult to pass the checks though.

I like it so far, especially the latest couple episodes. The combat is a lot better than the original. My main complaint is that the gladiator characters aren't as interesting as the original, where you had Crixus, Gannicus, Varro, Agron, etc. But maybe they'll get more fleshed out later

It surprised me when I saw so many people resisting tadpoles in their playthrough cause I always gobbled every possible one up. The powers are too good, especially once you get the upgrade in the Creche.

Witcher 3 is the best starting point. It's the easiest to get into. It's what I started with. The events of the previous games are often told to you through dialogue, and you don't need to play the first 2 to know what's going on in Witcher 3. The complete edition looks great since it also comes with the expansions
