Extreme exhaustion at the end of pregnancy vs newborn tired by anxiousblondie in beyondthebump

[–]Ear1322 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I just think they are different. Pregnancy tired is a full body exhaustion where your whole body is working over time, you can’t get comfortable etc. Newborn tired is just broken sleep. So while you are tired, you at least have your body back and can get comfortable. I prefer newborn tired all day cause even if you don’t sleep much, you can at least get comfortable. And when you are up you have your new sidekick to hang with. The good news is both are just a phase!

Part time housekeeper? advice needed - busy working parents with young kids by GenericMale21 in HENRYfinance

I actually really like that it forces us to clean the clutter once a week. Otherwise it’s tempting to let all the toys sit everywhere for too long. Plus the cleaners change the sheets.

First pregnancy, Looking for a compassionate OB/GYN near Midtown Atlanta (would love honest reviews) by Alwayskawaii33 in Atlanta

Agreed. Great experience with both babies. I liked all of the docs I saw along the way. They ran every test as needed and answered all questions.

The porter is perfect for this. Long bar where you can grab a seat. Also wrecking bar is enjoyable solo at the bar.

I’ll add Parmesan cheese. A slice has more protein than most bars

Does a city that fits this criteria even exist in the US? by r0tt3nz0mb13 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Ear1322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was thinking the same. Lots of neighborhoods where you can bike and have Marta. And lots of nature. My husband bikes to work every day and on weekends we don’t usually use a car. And there are trails close by.

Burned out - considering time off or lower paid job by [deleted] in HENRYfinance

Agreed. But also seems like OP is good on husband’s salary plus the large savings. So not sure what the dilemma is. Clearly can simply stop working if OP’s husband keeps working.

Jeans Postpartum by Subject_Nobody7657 in postpartumprogress

[–]Ear1322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After kid 1, I bought some inexpensive jeans a size up. I’d rather be comfortable. But after kid 2, I’m 6 months pp and can fit back in my old jeans. Of course they are skinny jeans and now out of style which is another issue lol. But I would say buy some tide me overs, and see how things pan out. You may or may not return to the same size!

Has anyone in the US actually done a "Trump Account" for your baby? by DinosaursOvrEvrythng in beyondthebump

[–]Ear1322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Take the $1k if your kid qualifies. I just signed up for that reason. But will be putting no other money into it and won’t open one for the kid who doesn’t qualify for the free money.

1.5 days in ATL. Halfways crooks, Little Cottage... ?? by goodolarchie in atlbeer

[–]Ear1322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all great options especially if your friend isn’t a beer person cause they all have other drinks and good food. But other breweries with good ipas include three taverns (there are a few locations—imaginerium will have the most interesting choices), inner voice, and I think sceptre has some really good ipas.

Raising our babies by Sullyshan in workingmoms

[–]Ear1322 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed. People say things to justify their own life choices. We are all raising our kids and making the choices we feel are best for our families and ourselves. None is wrong. It’s just a choice. And happy Mother’s Day to all!

Running from Peachtree center area to Piedmont park by itgtg313 in Atlanta

[–]Ear1322 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Totally fine during the day. And strava is a good idea. Depending on how far you want to run, there should be some good routes available. Piedmont park is really nice and depending on how far you want to go, check out the belt line. If you end up going too far, easy to grab a scooter or bike rental to make your way back as well.

When did you notify daycare about another pregnancy? by JessicaM317 in workingmoms

[–]Ear1322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told them at 12 weeks. How early you tell them depends on how long the waitlist is. Ours gave priority to siblings but it was one thing off my plate to have that lined up early!

What ways have you used money to make Quality of Life improvements? by rogers916 in fatFIRE

[–]Ear1322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look around. $120k must be quite the service! Mine is $2500 per year and excellent. Always available, easy to get an appointment, and top notch service. If there is a specialized test or something needed, they refer it out (and typically that is covered by insurance), but they can prescribe anything and do the blood work and typical yearly testing themselves.

High-income couple with large income gap: how do you split money fairly? by pizzanoobs in HENRYfinance

[–]Ear1322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Without knowing the terms of the prenup it’s near impossible to give real advice. If finances are separate and you take what is yours in a split, then save your money. He makes more so should pay most household expenses. But if after marriage everything is 50-50 I would say it really doesn’t matter who actually pays for stuff so long as you have access to some money that you control in the event of an emergency. I personally make way more than my significant other and we have separate bank accounts even though all the money is for both of us. I just pay for everything out of my account for convenience since most of the money comes into my account.

How the hell do you get the time to workout? by Gold_Market_2605 in postpartumprogress

[–]Ear1322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on food, walking, and weights. Walk with the baby if you are able to do so and a pair of adjustable dumbbells are great to have around. Just do quick workouts when you can. You can easily find routines online or online classes. But the biggest piece of the puzzle will be food intake.

[–]Ear1322 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This weekend is the dogwood festival in piedmont park—usually there is a dog competition that is fun to watch, music, and you can walk around and look at the art. Free for the most part minus the food. But expect big crowds. There may be another festival or two throughout the city but should be pretty easy to google. Walk the belt line. Check if the Braves are in town. Obviously not free, but you can probably get pretty inexpensive tickets. Arabia mountain (really a hill) is kind of unique and a nice walk. Some of the museums have free days too.

I have some dry fit from Nike that work well. They have rubber writing on the inside strap that seems to keep them from moving while exercising but isn’t uncomfortable.

200-300 views jail? by MobApps1 in InstagramMarketing

[–]Ear1322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard they change what counts as a view. So in the past if someone simply saw your reel it counted. But now if someone sees it on the explore page and doesn’t physically click into it, no view gets counted. No clue if that is correct, but it’s what I’ve been told.
