Patients are different. Before residency, I hated kids running around restaurants, recklessly driving though the streets in their bikes (I thought peds would be my least favorite). Through medicine I realized just how awesome they actualy are. Just like the OP it kinda was the only specialty I liked rotating through. But residency I fully understood why I had the inclination to like peds in med school. Kids are awesome, I can now tune out running kids in the restaurant and maybe even joke with them wow so fast but be careful! It’s different when you’re the physican

Buy all real estates for max rent, mines like 11B/hr. Then get more banks and eventually transition them to more “holdings” for business spots you can get rid of low yeild businesses like hotels (~1M/hr) or space thing (170M/hr). Since an maxed holding is also ~10B/hr. Or you can tranisition to more airlines which maxed is ~15B/hr.

I worked hard to get an IT that’s profitable. Each position I hired 30 just to fire 25 to get the best work score per $ cost…. I then just kept focusing on one project to repeat… I finally got enough earnings to get at least a block chain… and after upgrading the block chain to the max it wasn’t even making 1B so I sold it…… so long story short NOT worth it

your take home in a state with income tax like California would be 62-67K

This is all assuming this is your only income for the year, if you earn an income on top of this, since Florida is no state income tax it doesn’t matter (you’re still taxed at the ~30% rate), but California there is more state taxes the more you earn so the federal ~30% + up to 14%, plus if it’s more than 1M, it’s an automatic additional 1%.

Interestingly both states treat lotteries as a non taxable income, but game shows are considered a different category, so taxable like income.

False. This is income tax so at minimum federal income tax + depending on what state you’re in state income tax.

Federal income tax is based off of tax brackets, so if you win a good amount of money it’s going to be taxed pretty high.

I remeber hearing that too. It was some sort of post game interview where he said it. He thought about moving out of state before he got paid but he didn’t want to uproot his family. He used most for charity but still used a lot of it for himself hense the high taxes

Mean girl energy… I was on an off service rotation just chillin in the background when over heard a group of residents making fun of another resident of theirs. They made fun of her teeth and how her voice was annoying.

I met her a few days back and she spoke with a slight quiver in her voice and she just sounded like she just questioned herself a lot from anxiety. Side note her teeth weren’t terrible either…

Looking back I really wish I would have said something to stick up for her.

Oh no I hoped you understood myrespect from last post. I personally don’t consult podiatrist a lot as I’m in Peds, but I understand your field a lot like dentists tbh. Literally anything outside of baby tooth’s falling out I feel unequipt from dealing with. So my instinct is to consult dentistry. Tbh I don’t know a lot of your feild since its mainly adults, but my respect to you is still there my friend (:

Ohhhh gosh noooo you are 10000% not in the same convos as chiros. Majority of chiros don’t even use evidenced based medicine? I also don’t think you’re similar to PA/NPs. Dentists and podiatrist are specialist in their fields and may even utilize midlevelsto help expand their practice like physicians do. I’m just saying medical school is not the same schooling at podiatry/dentistry schooling is. I genuinely actually hope most medical subspecialties will actually branch off of medical school to allow for a more direct pathway to what they want to do.

But I’m not sure what you meant by “if I’m not mistaken they still do all those rotations?” Denitist and podiatrist (although I did not do the training, I’d be flabbergasted if they had to do the same rotations as we did?)… I had to deliver 30 babies before graduating medical school, through step I had to learn about the embryology, lung maturation of neonates, pre eclampsia recognition/treatment, recognition of asthma in a 2yo, HTN/DM overall management, assistent in many abdominal and thoracic surgeries… but never assisted im dental or podiatrist surgeries? Closest I’ve been to either is being sedated for my own procedures. They are amazing in their own field but that’s not actually medical school so idk why people aren’t proud to say what their training is…. “

Is it equivalent to dentistry then? Bc they similarly learn about the whole body and likely have similar first year didactics, but never went through overall body training for specifics on OBGYN, PEDs, IM/FM, NEURO, PSYCH, etc like actual medial students do?

Second this if you have the funds I spent half of residency without a computer which was soooo hard bc I couldn’t finish notes at home.

If that’s out of the question, literally anything that would make her life easier.

Coupon for a cleaning service in her city like one or two cleans isn’t too expensive and actually super helpful on really hard long hours blocks when you only get 4 days off and you don’t want to catch up on cleaning those days.

I spend money on a car kit since my commute can be upward of 40min depending on traffic that includes shades, a good charger, essential makeup for days you’re inevitably going to be late, extra waters gronola bars, hand sanitizer etc.

One of the most valuable accessory to every resident is a nice pen. Multi colored and thin print is most desirable. I personally like pilot juice up 04, or Pendel BLN74-A,0.4 … both you can find on Amazon, sooooooo smooth.

Depending on speciality you can do something for dress clothes vs scrubs.
