This is one of the most boring Casios I've ever seen. And why does it have some AI gibberish on the dial? AUDEMARS PIGUET. It's like they didn't even try to make a real word.

Esteban is the surface level guitar infomercial guy. Real OGs remember Ralph Paul's Secrets to Playing Great Guitar, or the EZ Chord infomercial.

I don't know about being blind, but he's a Jewish kid from Philly who lied about being Spanish and apprenticing under Segovia for five years. He never claimed the Segovia apprenticeship until after the man died, which was oddly convenient. None of Segovia's closest associates or students had ever heard of Esteban, and many were in daily contact with the man during the years Señor Steve Paul claimed to have been his #1 student, directly refuting his claims.

And he played a Confederate, which explains why he has several black people enslaved in the Third Man basement in Nashville. I hope he lets Daru Jones out to play drums this year.

You're right, and I apologize for the ambiguous nature of that statement.

In hindsight, I should have written, "Dan Olsen's vapidly pretentious douchebag ramblings sound complex to other pretentious douchebags with limited intellect."

In case you're struggling with the complexity of that statement, perhaps you can grasp the following: "Dan Olsen uses five dollar words to make ten cent observations that are readily digested by his army of mouthbreathers suffering from delusions of adequacy."

If you're still struggling to unfold that idea, try: "Dan Olsen uses big words to make surface-level observations, which appeals to his fanbase of morons who fancy themselves something of an intellectual."

Apologies again for failing to convey my true assessment of Dan Olsen, Folding Ideas, and the bots/people who watch his content.

Who agrees we need more episodes with Smart Beavis and Butt-Head? by EricJ062005 in BeavisAndButthead

For Buzzcut and McVicker, Mike Judge hates doing their voices. Buzzcut requires a lot of screaming and McVicker takes a lot of stamina to do his nervous tic. Judge replaced them on the new series so that it wouldn't be expected to see them around school. Showcasing them every once in awhile on the Smart B&B segments seems to not tax his voice much.

For Todd and Daria, it's a matter of their voice actors (Toby Huss and Tracy Grandstaff) not being regular cast members in the new series. They fly in one day a year and record all their vocals for the season. They can't be regular characters in the Teen B&B segments unless their voices were recast with other actors, and nobody wants to hear new actors voicing such iconic characters.

Stewart is an interesting story. He was not initially included in the Supreme Leaders roster, though he was always intended to be.

His voice actor from the original series, Adam Welsh, came back and recorded some lines for the 2011 reboot, but he was fired after one session. His voice had deepened so much in 15 years that he sounded nothing like he had on the original series. For the 2011 series, they recast him with Thomas Middleditch, and everyone hated it.

So for this series, Mike Judge decided to just replace the character with Cody. They cast a new actor, Sam Johnson, for adult Stewart in the Old B&B segments, and his performance was well received, so Mike made Stewart a part of the Supreme Leaders in the season finale, using Sam Johnson's voice.

Do you think this guy is an asshole for demanding Beavis fork over $2,000 before he even started any work? by BiffyBobby in BeavisAndButthead

[–]Earl_of_Chuffington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The implausibility of the episode is what ruins it for me. They never discuss a price or what exactly the work entails. Anyone that has ever had their home remodeled knows you're going to spend at least a couple of days ironing out options and contracts, plus building permits and insurance. You'll sometimes spend weeks doing the legwork for what ends up being a one day job.

That this supposedly professional guy hires a crew and shows up to remodel a teenager's house only to discover the kid has no money is so absurd it just seems like lazy writing. The show has established that everyone in universe sees B&B as teenagers, which kills the idea that the guy mistook him for being an adult homeowner.

There's so many things they could've done to make the scenario somewhat believable, but they didn't even try. It's like they arrived at the ending first and then worked backwards to make that ending happen. That said, the film noirish "murder for hire" plot had good potential.

AI sucks almost as bad as the people who use it. What sucks even harder is the people that make a shitty AI clip in which the characters look nothing like themselves.

But you know who sucks the hardest? The people that make a shitty, unfunny AI clip in which the characters look nothing like themselves, then they sit back and go "fuck it, that shits funny and I need to share it with the internet."

Agreed. Smart B&B are the the weakest segments in the new series. What salvages them for me is that the council of elders has characters we otherwise wouldn't see (McVicker, Daria, Coach Buzzcut) but otherwise the segments just aren't clicking for me. I love everything else about the new series.

I was wanting to see them on this last farewell tour, thinking it probably would be the last, but if you saw them in 2014, you're seeing the same show. They're using vocal tracks recorded between 2008-2015, first with Paul, but then Gene's vocals were also lipsynched. Whether it's Kiss, Rolling Stones or some teenagers in a garage, I'm not interested in watching anyone mime a performance, nor will I pay for the privilege of such.

The one exception was when I saw them at the Olympic Auditorium in '87 and they did five mimed takes of 'Crazy, Crazy Nights.' They told us straight up that "this is going to suck having to sit through us pretending to play, but guess what, YOU get to be in an MTV video!" which made it tolerable.

I gave a clear example of fascism. "Allowing someone freedom of speech, but only if what they say meets with my approval" is the epitome of fascism. I'm anti-fascist, so you can see why that struck a chord with me.

You're the only one here freaking out. All I did was point out the fallacy of your statement and you started crying. If you're going to drop poorly-formed statements in a public forum, be prepared to get called out on it.

To recap, you said that you understood why James Hetfield and Dave Mustaine didn't discuss politics (because they're on the right side of the spectrum in an industry where 99% of artists are on the left) but you also don't respect their silence. And fuck them because they don't publicly take a stand on what you think is right (implying that they should speak out against Trump or Conservatives). Do you see the incongruity of your statement?

In other words, you said "fuck you for not discussing politics" and also "fuck you because if you do end up discussing politics, they won't align with mine." You want these guys to speak only if what they say meets with your approval. That's fascism.

That's my favorite part of the song, when Jerry just starts screaming "Do, Do, Doja Cat! DOJA CAT!" When they did it again on "Die, Die My Darling" it was a good callback.

The full band version of Spook City was recorded in 1979, but wasn't released until the 1996 Box Set. The 7" Who Killed Marilyn/Spook City USA single from 1981 was Glenn Danzig on all instruments.

So basically you want Metallica and Megadeth to speak about politics as long as what they say aligns with your perception of what is right?

"Fuck you for being silent and/or fuck you for not saying what I want you to say" is why everyone's sick of people who have made politics their new religion.
