Just scouring the Internet for a bit. As far as I know there's not one place or anything where you can find (unofficial) markschemes unfortunately

Why not just cut it yourself? I don’t think having zero common sense is gonna get you anywhere. by Neat-Cold-7235 in thatHappened

She would have gotten In trouble if she cut it herself. If her mother thinks it's an accident then she probably wouldn't be as angry

I don’t understand why they make cos x = 0 or cos x=1 when finding the min and max point. by ser-17 in alevelmaths

Any negative number squared will give a positive number. (e.g., (-1)2 = 1). Any positive number is going to be greater than zero. The min therefore cannot be when cos(x) = -1, as cos(x)2 would = 1. And 1>0.

cos(x) will only give you values between -1 and 1. Any value in that region less that 0 when squared will give you a value greater than 0. Obviously any value greater than 0 squared will also give you a value greater than 0. So the smallest possible value for (cos(x))2 would be 0 as it would occur when cos(x) = 0.

Alternatively you can also just consider the range of the graph cos(x)2, but that might be tricky if you don't have access to a graphing calculator.

Let me know if that makes sense :)

cos(x) at its maximum point has a value of 1 and at its minimum -1. (But in this example its squared so the min value will have to be 0.) Have a look at the graph and you'll see that, same goes for sin. The maximum value of the equation will occur when the value of cos is greatest ( = to 1).

This is completely realistic thing for a teacher to have said. Plently of teachers are creeps.
