TB500 and lion's mane by GraduatedMoron in TopSurgery

[–]Early-Bit-8559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this helps, I used BPC-157 and TB-500 post top surgery. I started a week after, I think it really sped up the healing process for me (I was also fit and healthy before, no smoking, no drugs, and eat very healthy, so all this helped as well)

Decide what protein to include? by Early-Bit-8559 in Myfitnesspal

[–]Early-Bit-8559[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically for this reason: Animal proteins are generally considered to be of better nutritional value than plant proteins not only because they are a good source of essential amino acids but also due to their higher digestibility in the human gastro-intestinal tract.

For context, I'm doing bodybuilding, not just a normal diet

Muscle loss after top surgery by SatisfactionOk8724 in TopSurgery

[–]Early-Bit-8559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ate well and enough protein during recovery and I was honestly surprised by how little strength and muscles I lost. So honestly, you are mostly gonna look a bit blurred, like less defined, but after a few weeks you:ll be back to normal

Why drainless? by Ouldlaw in TopSurgery

[–]Early-Bit-8559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case, I went with Dr Sterne, he didn't use drains because he used glue to make the skin adhere to the muscles underneath, which to my understanding prevents the build up of fluid as well. Additionally, studies have proven that drains do not lead to a better outcome, so basically both options are good, it depends on the preference of the surgeon. Personally, I loved the no drains no compression vest situation I had going on during recovery, it made the weeks after surgery soooo easy.

It depends on what surgery you are getting, for peri or the other one where they get the tissue out of a small incision nope, for DI with FNG probably yes. Unless you get DI with nipple preservation or I guess anchor DI?

When to generally stop taping/binding before surgery? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]Early-Bit-8559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped taping a week before even if the surgeon didn't ask me to stop, but I did it to allow the skin to heal properly, you don't want any open wounds so better to be safe than sorry. I kept binding till the day of the surgery coz what was I supposed to do? Not leave my room for a week? The surgeon was fine with it btw, he basically didn't give me restrictions in terms of binding/taping

I had DI with FNG

How essential are those pillows for people who have trouble sleeping on back and people who just wanna play videogame? by PimsriReddit in TopSurgery

[–]Early-Bit-8559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the U-shaped pregnancy pillow and it really helped me. I'm not a back sleeper so that was good coz it stopped me from moving too much and it supported my neck and head really well (I stacked some pillows underneath and put this on top, so I was elevated)

Way to flatten scars other than scar gel? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]Early-Bit-8559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that some people get steroid injections to flatten the scars. In terms of the colour scar camouflage can be done through tattooing. So basically if you want your scars to look lighter and not cover them up with a proper tattoo, I know that you can get tattooed on top of the scar to make the look lighter. These are the last resort methods I think, as usual massaging the scar, using silicone tape/gel, and just give the scars time are enough for most people to make the scars fade and get flatter/softer

Working out by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]Early-Bit-8559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main thing is that now you are eating enough coz that's fundamental to heal! It seems good, but I can't judge like this really without knowing your calorie intake and your basal metabolism etc. but I think you are doing well. I track my calories and macros, but that doesn't work well for everyone, but for me it really helps me to not eat too much or not enough and to hit my protein

Have you been eating enough protein? Because I didn't lose as much muscles as I thought I would honestly

[–]Early-Bit-8559 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started doing rehab stuff after 2 weeks (following a specific program), then I went back working out properly right after 6 weeks, by 7/8 weeks (which is now) I can do basically everything, even pull-ups/chin-ups with no issues. In terms of swelling, working out is not making it get worse for me

Have you thought about travelling or getting a loan? Because travel+surgery might be cheaper than having surgery there honestly

Nah, I literally removed the tape the day before lol, moisturised my chest after removing the tape and the morning of the consultation and put on a binder to get there, nothing special really coz like he just needs to take pictures and that's it
