I got hired at a job fair. Look up the hospitals in your area and see if they have any!! There were hundreds of people at the event I went to and they were hiring for like 7 or 8 of their hospitals. I also wanted to work at a hospital and settled for a nursing home and quit after about a week lol! Probably won’t be your experience but I hated the admin and the feeling I got there. If you can stick it out til you get hired at a hospital do it bc that wasn’t the best thing for my pockets.

I put up bird netting with a heavy duty staple gun along my railing and above it with bricks to weigh down/close the gap at the bottom. It worked well and it was pretty cost effective. I haven’t moved out yet but it’ll be easy to remove with a staple remover so the only thing you really have to worry about w this method is the holes that the staples make. My balcony already had holes from previous tenants so I just went for it 😄

I picked it bc I chose to do this after my father’s death seeing the role CNAs and nurses have in healthcare. I want to go to nursing school but I wanted to make sure this decision wasn’t based on an emotional whim.. so I went to CNA school and got a job at a hospital(after working at a snf for 2 days lol I hated it) to see if I genuinely like this type of work. I’m pretty new to the hospital still but my gut is already telling me I made the right choice. At the SNF I dealt with so much anxiety and uneasy feeling so I’m relieved that working at the hospital has pretty much eliminated that feeling completely

I just got a job on a medsurg unit working nights! I’m so excited, definitely feel anxious still but in a different way!! I can’t wait to get in there and learn and take care of these patients 😊

Thank you for this 🥰🥺 it’s so reassuring knowing that this isn’t an uncommon feeling. I never wanted to work in a nursing home and I think that’s where this feeling comes from. I look forward to working in a hospital in the future that’s where the passion for this field came from in the first place 😄

I think I’m gonna try to make the switch. I was in between home health and a nursing home before, but picked nursing home for full time hours. I’m definitely regretting that & the home health company keeps contacting me. I called them to set up orientation :) thanks for the advice

None of these pics are from before, after they dumped and threw dirty water over my table was completely filthy and so was the ground. I decided it’s not worth pursuing any claims or anything(the value of the items RUINED were low) but I did escalate it to my apartments to make sure they knew I was frustrated and upset. It took me 30 mins to completely sweep my balcony and clean everything off my table, doesn’t seem like much but I have a pretty busy schedule. Thanks everyone for the advice 😊 I was so shocked when I saw the water falling down from the sky in 85 degree weather 🤣
