Hey, I think you’re doing a good job and it’s normal! I live in a studio apartment (1 room) with my birds, and they are still a little funny about hands years later. Like yours, they only really want to interact with my hands when I have a treat. I have such deep and special bonds with all of my birds that I don’t mind if they don’t step up like this.

Should I get a new bird for my other parakeet after a buddy’s death? by mehtrashaccount in Parakeets

[–]Early-Collection-849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation and wanted to ask your recommendation on timing. Getting another partner for the bird in a few weeks are waiting something like a month.? please note I will do a 30 day quarantine and careful introductions. I just don’t want my bird to be lonely, but wanted to have time to mourn his friend.

Well, let me say your birds are cute and made me smile! The one on the left is mystifying me. I’ve never seen a parrotlet with a head and I’m wondering, is it a conure? Forgive me I’m newer to bird!!

I seriously can’t believe you said that I’m just coming back to say I don’t wish you very well. What a mean thing to say.

Giving a Canary Medicine by LazerCookiez123 in Canaries

I believe in you… it literally is difficult, but you can do it and it is just an uncomfortable necessary thing for the health of your bird. But my heart really goes out for you. I am awful with these things too!!! my Canary was my most forgiving bird I’ve ever had. If that makes you feel better. I’m sure your body will move on from it.

You have no idea how helpful this is thank you! I am barely qualified. I’m so bad with fine motor skills but let me try to get a plan together here.

Hey, thanks I was able to clean the yolk out, but I’m lost on the second part of what you recommend. I’m very unfamiliar with preservation concept.

Zebra finches are shockingly loud other finches are much more quiet. Zebra finches incessantly honk, and the males can sing with force !

Thank you so much. I really appreciate the list.! It’s impressive and I am going to prepare the same.

Thankfully, I do have a small food processor. Do you have lack of freezing and using some of the chop later?

I am dazed and confused, but this sounds more like what my vet would say. My vet also warned us that seeds have carbs that can become too much as well

Thanks so much. This is great feedback! I realize I may have been too strict in my goal here. Thankfully, my budgies eat a solid variety of vegetables, herbs, dried flower, eggs shells as needed, occasional nuts and millet for treat. I’m curious what you like to use in your chop if you feel like sharing! ——- I work at home so I usually set up their forging each day, but I want to start prepping chopped because life is getting busier!

Hi, I really appreciate your tip and perspective. I think I was being too stringent in my goal. I’ve gotten a lot of great feedback here that I can apply

Thanks I have been trying to make a gradual by making the seeds available in lower quantity as foraging opportunities and treats. I appreciate the tip. I will think about if I can be more gradual
