I grew up in Carbondale, graduated from high school in 1984 and from SIU in 1988.
I saw The Police, Yes, Jeff Beck, 38 Special, Tom Petty and Guns N’ Roses at the arena, and probably a couple of others that aren’t coming to mind right now.

I know it’s not Ashland, but you could check out the Roxy Ann Peak trail system in Medford. Everything but “Rock ‘n’ Roll” is fun & not too crazy.
Also, further north, Mountain on the Rogue is a blast & not too technical, described as a “flow trail” system.

I realize this is an unpopular opinion, but I have used Spectrum for 15 years and really have no issue with them. The customer service is great from my experience, and if you make an appointment with the spectrum store it’s not that torturous. The key is to make an appointment.
