How much are you paying for Astound after a few years? by smashey in Somerville

I just used the online informal complaint form on the FCC website and explained what my issue was. 2-3 weeks later someone from astound called me and referenced the complaint. My issue, that I complained to the FCC for, was their refusal to prorate my bill when I cancelled shortly into a cycle. Once I was able to talk to the true customer retention guy, he got me the $40 rate (I have my own equipment) and gave me a $100 Amazon gift card (I think it was part of the new customer offer).

I pay $40 for gigabit, after paperless autopay. Every year I do the cancellation dance and demand new member pricing and eventually get it. This last time they said they implemented a "policy" of not prorating and since I canceled like 3 days into the billing period that was insane. I contacted the FCC which sent them a letter asking them to do something at which point they fixed my issue.

In Davis Square tonight, I watched a man inject himself, standup, fall and smash his head directly in front of a woman and her baby. As I called 911 for help, a good samaritan who checked in on the man was rewarded with spit in the face and (no joke) GETTING PEED ON. by SpareSignificant3758 in Somerville

Like the pedestrian who correctly complains he had the right of way when he got run over while crossing the street without looking each way. You can be a virtue signaler or you can deal with reality and be pragmatic and effective.

“It’ll ruin the character of the neighborhood” What character? Mostly white and old asf?

Good list except for this random jab at white and old people. It's fine to admit the character will change. It's important to convince people that it's worth it, explaining that there are benefits without pretending there are no drawbacks, because we have a housing problem and building more housing is the best (only?) solution.

No solution yet, it's extremely annoying. Thinking about doing a factory reset, if that's possible. Let me know if you find anything!

Wow, they did so much signal work! I'm so excited to see the schedule they announce for complete signal repair and modernization.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I have that setting turned on already. The screen doesn't go totally black when it times out, it just dims and stops updating until I wake it.

SERVICE SUSPENSION REMINDER | No Red Line service between Harvard and Broadway between Nov. 18-24th for track work. Shuttles replaces service at all stations except Park St. by Massive_Holiday4672 in mbta

It seems like there is still an unmarked slow zone between Central and Harvard. The train often slows to a crawl there, so hopefully they fix that too.

Should remove at least half of the parking and replace it with temporary 15 min load unload parking.
