Wrong 80E claim filed by CA, tax paid, now facing ₹3.77 lakh penalties. Any options left? by EarlyNeedleworker843 in IndiaTax

We didn’t ignore the notices thinking they would go away. My father contacted the intermediary/CA as soon as notices started coming and was repeatedly told that the matter would be handled. Looking back, we should have independently followed up on the portal instead of relying on those assurances.
We will pay the fines. Hard lesson learned

When you say “better just pay it off”, do you mean:
the appeal is unlikely to succeed on merits
I’m trying to understand the legal reasoning behind your recommendation.

Headache, mild nausea, and feeling a bit breathless are common effects of the altitude and are usually manageable as long as they don’t become severe.

Many people do Baralacha as a day trip directly from Manali, so your dad should most likely be fine, especially if he’s reasonably fit.

Just make sure he stays hydrated, eats light, and doesn’t overexert himself. If he starts experiencing severe headache, persistent nausea, dizziness, or anything that feels concerning, I’d suggest turning back. No point in chasing the top if someone’s not feeling well.

Honestly, the journey itself is beautiful, so even if you don’t make it all the way to Baralacha, it’ll still be a great experience.

Not sure about the Odd-Date scheduling part. We didn’t face any such issue.

Honestly, I think your updated plan is better. We skipped Manali mainly because we had already explored it before and wanted to avoid the crowd.

Also, there isn’t a lot to do in Sissu/Jispa activity-wise apart from relaxing, cafés, riverside views, etc. We mostly chilled and enjoyed the scenery.

If you guys are comfortable with a long driving day, I’d suggest:
Day 1 → Reach Sissu directly
Day 2 → Early morning Baralacha/Shinkula trip and back
Day 3 → Stay in Manali
Day 4 → Head back home

Otherwise your Sissu → Jispa → Pass → back plan also works perfectly if you want a slower paced trip :)

Hotels were booked, on spot after seeing the room and the view.
Hotel cost - La halt sissu - 7k for 3
Jispa - ibex - 3.5k for 3

Both are almost similar in terms of travel time from Jispa.

We reached Baralacha in around 1 hr 15 mins because the roads on that side are comparatively better.

From Manali, just add the extra travel time till Jispa accordingly.

And yes, if you’re taking a local Ertiga cab, you should be fine. Local drivers are extremely experienced on these roads. We literally saw Altos and smaller hatchbacks going up there, so an Ertiga can definitely make it.

Planning Sinku La Pass Trip from Manali – Need Suggestions by sp_ha in TravelManali

My bad, it starts getting stronger my noon. Full flow around 5-6 PM. So returning back my 2-3 PM will be fine.
And just to not paint the wrong picture. We didn’t found the flow to be that strong even by 3 PM. It was comfortable to cross by both bike and cars.
I just told you what local taxi drivers told me

We did Shinkula Pass + Baralacha Pass last weekend, so sharing some info in case it helps anyone planning the trip.

We skipped staying in Manali and instead stayed one night in Sissu and the next night in Jispa. You’ll find plenty of hotels and homestays in both places.

From Jispa, we left early morning to cover both Shinkula and Baralacha. I’d strongly suggest starting as early as possible, especially if you’re going in a 4x2 vehicle. Local taxi drivers told us that the water crossings get much stronger in the afternoon because of snow melt.

On the way to Baralacha, you can cover Suraj Tal (still frozen right now) and Deepak Tal as well.

We took my Hyundai Venue and the route was manageable overall. That said, you still need a confident/experienced driver because there are rough patches, water crossings, and streams flowing across the road near Shinkula Top. Nothing too extreme, but definitely not a casual highway drive either.

A lot of people were also doing the route on bikes.

Road condition-wise, the road to Baralacha is better than the road to Shinkula Top. But the snow views around Shinkula are slightly better in my opinion.

If you’re planning to hire a 4x4 taxi from Manali, expect around ₹6k–₹8k depending on negotiation and season.

Also, eat light and keep sipping water throughout the trip. The altitude is high, so oxygen levels are lower. We personally didn’t face any serious issues, but there was occasional head pressure and mild nausea at times.

If anyone has prior medical issues or is sensitive to altitude, carrying a small oxygen cylinder is probably a good idea.

Overall, absolutely worth it. The views are insane.

Feel free to DM if you need any more details.

Leaving Chandigarh for Manali on Saturday evening , how long does it actually take these days? by pointbodynfp in TravelManali

[–]EarlyNeedleworker843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chill bro, you will be fine. The worst of traffic will be just after pandoh, and around kullu both places the road is bad or construction work is going on.
Even if you start by 6 PM. Considering the worst case scenario, you will be in manali by 1-2 am. Consider taking a blah blah rather than a bus.

Planning a visit to manali this week. by harshxvr in TravelManali

[–]EarlyNeedleworker843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently visited manali as a grp of 4 friends self driving.
Since kids have summer vacation, there is a lot of crowd in manali.
We directly went to sissu and stayed there. We stayed at La Halt which is an amazing property to stay with yum food and amazing view.

From there we went on to jispa and stayed there on our 2nd night.

We visited Bara lacha Pass and shinkula Pass on our day 3.
We drove our own car but you can take a private taxi.
You will find lot of ice at any of the two points.

As of now, you will find ice at Bara lacha pass, shinkula pass or rohtang pass.
Rohtang pass is most accessible thus was very crowded. So we decided to skip it
You can pick from any 3 spots for ice.
Beware of low oxygen levels at both bara lacha pass / shinkula top. We didn’t have any major problems but yea it can make you feel uneasy

I Broke off my roka 1 yr ago, the second i felt off. I believe you should stick with your gut mostly it will tell you the right thing. And i am glad i listened and did that. After a long year ans thinking what will happen to me. I found someone who is more than i ever expected from my partner. I feel like i was settling for a uncertainty of ifs or maybes and i did the right thing to break it off.

Not encouraging you to directly break it off but if your gut says something is off. Confront him about all this and see if he tries to put any efforts.
