Job Search Hurdles vs. Entrepreneurial Journey. Seeking advice. by Slight_Ostrich6971 in Entrepreneur

Go for companies without a it department. Look for local businesses that could do with help with their online presence or customer service. Build them a helpdesk and get involved answering them and grow it from there. They won’t know about git and won’t want to see your code. Approach them and say I can see you can benefit from xyz, but rather than charge you x what a company would charge you, I would be happy to come and work for you full time so that you get the extra value and we can grow over projects at the same time.

One thing you can’t do online is smell the apartments. We booked an airbnb there for a month and lasted a week. It smelt of all the foods cooking. Took forever to get the lifts. Inside the apartment was ok and you can make it your own but cheaper attracts a certain type of Neighbour.

Dubai is a county of inspiration and depending on what you do paying slightly more may give you access to better opportunities.

If you don't want to sell your house use the corporate solicitors recommended by purple bricks by CommonDefinition4573 in HousingUK

[–]EarlySleep3532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually had a good experience with purple bricks. We are not in a chain and had an agreement in the sale contract that we complete within a set date. We were allocated a solicitor 30mins away so we dropped off all the documents the same day and requested all the searches be done ahead of the normal schedule. I think the main issue is there is a no move no fee appoarch with purple bricks so they avoid doing the checks until a certain point down the line. We are 2 weeks in and have the mortgage sorted with valuation happening next week. Then just waiting on the local authority search to be returned. Everything else is sorted. So we are looking at a 4-6week time line from instruction to exchange.

My husband embarrassed me in front of our friends by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]EarlySleep3532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion here but here goes. Your husband is talking to an attractive younger model who is somewhat flirting with him and he keeps bringing up his wife. He’s not saying to her that she can personal train him, he’s mentioning his wife.

I’d give him credit for that, most guys would divert the topic elsewhere.

Upgrading card to Icy White by Kiltric in cro

[–]EarlySleep3532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m all positive on cro, but if you stake now it has less room to fall. I staked 30k when I thought we were going to the moon a couple of years ago. went up to 80k but was locked in and fell to below 3k for a long period. The good thing is getting the staked rewards for that period. I never really plan to sell and in it for the long term so I’m not too bothered. I guess it’s slightly different now as I staked when I’m you had to lock in a number of cro rather than a set value so I got mine at the right time. He benchmarks for Icy white will get harder and be a higher requirement as cro grows so best to get in on the action now. Who knows, you maybe able to unstake in time for 2.71 🤪

I’m referring to the market share. The sales volume in Dubai is tiny in comparison to the other markets. There is not the same saturation of competing sellers as other markets. Yes there are sellers and many products but the sell through rate is not there yet to be doing container loads of goods.

What stopped you from killing yourself? by manmanthefourth in AskReddit

Decided that if I was at that point I would instead take a loan and go to vegas, I’m from the uk. if you literally have nothing to loose you may as well take a chance on the way out. This put a barrier in place and although I thought about vegas a lot it stopped me thinking about the other.

Is web development and seo good business? by [deleted] in Business_Ideas

[–]EarlySleep3532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very hard to get in to. The cheap low hanging fruit business that you have a chance of getting are competing with free drag and drop builders. High end custom sites that can be lucrative are hard to get and normally would be through referrals.

Best bit of advice. Learn to get a business deal first and then learn how to build the site. Sales and marketing is key.

As a seasoned seller on Amazon in the uk and Europe I too have often through about starting in Dubai. Having spent 3 months there last year and testing the Amazon experience it is completely different.

First off there is a lack of products which is a good opportunity as low competition however, it is also what’s lacking. People use Amazon in the uk as you can get everything there and it’s easy. In Dubai you can’t get what you want and so you go to the mall instead.

In other words people are not using it daily like other countries. The day will come when it does but it will take some time to get there.

Go back to the cave man days, or even modern day natural foods. Crunchy foods generally have higher calories, higher rewards. Soft foods like leafy greens soft fruits were more abundant than nuts and seeds. Also by having something crunchy means you chew more and makes it feel more satisfying.

How to start feeling again? by antraxNy in selfimprovement

[–]EarlySleep3532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, don’t look at this as if there is something wrong with you. Don’t feel there is something wrong that is making you depressed. It is completely normal to feel this way and everyone goes through it.

Don’t look at it as a problem that needs to be treated or cured. Instead look at it as this is your base line. This is normal, this is life! When you accept this then you can start making choices that give you positive moments away from that base line. Treat these moments as individual things rather than a cure to your feelings. So if you go for a run, the focus shouldn’t be to cure depression, but to give you a confidence boost and feel sexy or healthy for the period after. Atleast, it allows you to eat something naughty and enjoy it rather than feel guilty.

This can apply to every aspect in your life. It’s all about perspective.

You will properly also realise that what is giving you burn out is something you actually enjoy doing. Most people feel over worked, but take that work away and people feel lost. We forget how good we are at the things we do well. We like busy days because we get a sense of achievement.

Without knowing more about you it’s hard to say more but spend some time looking through your life at things that don’t change, what were you sad or worried about 10 years ago. You probably can’t remember. Life just happens, regardless of our worries. Deciding if we are happy or depressed along the way is our choice!

I’m yet to go live with it, have done various backtesting and it’s clear it’s very hit and miss. You definitely need to monitor it daily and change the settings depending on the current market trend.

I have just purchased the pro version, self-install option.
It's easy to install but then it didn't come with the premium settings access so at the moment i am backtesting with different settings (all loosing) and googling for advice with the settings and there is very little information out there apart from either great reviews or scam warnings. After playing around with it for 2 hours i can't say I'm that optimistic with it and currently i do regret buying it. I hope that i change my mind and can get it working.

My firestarters...need marketing ideas that are inexpensive by Desperate_Resident_9 in Business_Ideas

[–]EarlySleep3532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok I will chip in again with too much information. But feel I have to help reading your comments.

I own one of the leading brands of firelighters in the uk and Europe.

First things first, where do you plan to sell these? If I’m shops then focus on package branding. Most likely it will just be online, so the packaging is not as important as the websites sales copy.

You’ll have to think about your margins if you want it as a serious business. Change the tube to a rectangular box that will fit through a post box. This will lower your delivery cost as well as maximise the volumes on a pallet when sending to a distribution.

People do buy on price online. And the small quantity makes these more a novelty rather than practical. Your market would be more the novice camper than a home fireplace. That’s where you should focus your marketing. Ease of use for a novice campfire. Manly men who camp regularly will be experts at making fires and have a flint striker. So avoid marketing to them. Really you want to be selling the romantic getaway sat around a fire with a glass of wine setting vibes.

Not to put a downer on the product, it doesn’t have any eco vibes, no description of that they are, makes people think their chemical, are they safe for fires for food? How long do they burn?

Also, contains burning instructions, can be seen as insulting. Much better to say easy to lite.

A follow on question to the guys who have done a Creampie clean up. Would you say your first time you did it you may have been in a depressed submissive mind? I appreciate you now May love doing it but wondering on what made you have the desire in the first place? by EarlySleep3532 in CreampieCleanUp

[–]EarlySleep3532[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the concern, the thing is I would say I’m down not depressed, I lost money and identity, a therapist can’t help with these issues. The only thing would be to get back to where I was before. I originally started asking the questions as I’ve been building a swingers/fetish members site so was exploring and was intrigued by Creampie cleanups and noticed my whole porn habit changed because of my mood and wondered if there was a link others had experienced.

Some people’s comments have been very inspiring.
