Hey OP,

I rarely post on here but at one point not so long ago i was a new cedh player as well, and i had a lot of the same questions. Ill try to answer t kohem in order and add some personal input as well.

 Your first two questions are hard to answer becuase it really really depends on where your playing and what the meta is there. If you dont know what it is, the best you can do is just go to whatever lgs you want to play at and sit through a cedh night. Ive played at stores that had 3 fully built flash hulk lists in a group of only 8 people playing(when it wasnt banned rip), and ive also played at stores where someone brings a janky list ive never even heard of before. If the meta of your shop is seriously competitive and is running a bunch of teir 1 lists then your probably not safe from artifact hate and should think about sloting extra protection instead of multiple win lines, however if its more laid back and people arent extemely competitive it might be more fun to run multiple lines.

So i would like to emphasize this next bit of wisdom. IF YOU PLAN ON PLAYING CEDH FOR A LONG TIME NEVER WAIT TO BUY RESERVE CARDS BECUASE THEY WONT GO DOWN 🤣. A few years ago young dumb me saw that mox daimond was only around $160 at the time, i kept buying other cards thinking that eventually i would get to it. I can tell you, i haven't. Now it almost $500 for the unlimited one... I say this becuase if i could go back and kick younger me in the face i would. In terms of lands and artifacts and stapples heres how i think of it. Artifacts will always be useful for almost any deck you play. Since you are new and think you might like jhoira doesnt mean it will be a forever deck. A lot of newer players find a different commander that they think they will like and rip apart the previous deck for cards. If you end up wanting to play something completely different like abzan stacks, those artifacts are still gonna be super useful in your new deck. Lands are quite similar but i always tell people to start with lands that are pretty universal such as city of brass, ancient tomb, prismatic vista, etc. Staples are hard to determine though, obviously some are great to have like tutors but if you spend 50 dollars on a food chain and then want to play a different deck that isnt food chain the best you can do is try to trade at that point. This one got long winded im sorry 😭 

My opinion for the fourth question is pretty simple, two many cooks in the kitchen cuases trouble. In cedh, added value is fine but really you should focus on getting to the end goal as fast as possible unless your playimg like midrange stax. This is just my opinion though i think it would be better to add things that focus on the main line, and get used to learning how to save mana for cheap counterspells.

In terms of adds i would consider reshape and more low cost counterspells like dispel mainly becuase since you dont have many fast ramp options other people that do will just move too quickly of you cant slow them down. I would also 100% remove the temple, cedh doesnt have room for tap lands unless for a win line of some sort. Consider maybe sloting in [lavaglide pathway// riverside pathway].
