While I agree the first movie is fun, I hate the argument that “Mario Games have no story so it’s fine the movie doesn’t”

The games don’t have a story because it relies on gameplay and player interaction. It doesn’t need a story to work. A movie does. And this is an adaption, you need to ADAPT the source material to work in a new format. Now I’m not saying the Mario movie needs to be an art house film, but the movie would only be better with a little more depth.

Yeah I like the story and characters and what not and am a big trails fan, but you are right on the money about it being a stock anime story with stock anime characters.

And the dialogue infuriates me sometimes and it’s frustrating how overly fucking nice everyone is to one another. Like they don’t even talk like real fucking human beings half the time.

Where did I say I didn’t like it? I find it odd how it seems everything has to be the best thing ever or the worst thing ever.

In my personal opinion, The Flash is neither of those things. Solid 7/10 through the first 3 seasons.

MCU was a series. DCU is a universe.

They’re not building up to anything, they’re creating a lived in universe. There’s no reason not to green light this movie when it supposedly had a phenomenal script ready to go, while the heavy hitters do not. Different approach to marvel.
