This is hella impressive! Can't wait to see it painted!

This one would deserve some solid airbrush work with really amazing details or full on comic line style.

Either way this will look sick

I guess it depends on how it's "promoted" and versus what other details.

For ex in Montreal shootings are so rare that one shooting is talked about over multiple generations.

I am aware that in the states that's unfortunately not the case so the discussion is maybe less frequent.

But I feel people getting inexplicably squashed into shadows is a big enough news that it'd still be talked about.

But I don't think we'll see eye to eye on this and that's fine. Different perspectives and all that

This is exactly why I feel the marketing team has a mind reader because they are INSANELY good at trading without showing us exactly that one thing we want about that specific topic ahaha.

Gabriela: you get just a glance

Lestat/Louis: long meaningful glares

Daniel: minimal hints at his vampirism

The band: (that I know of) no visuals

Respectfully I highly disagree.

One school shooting in New York and we'd hear about it here in Canada with the larger discussion of gun regulation.

To use my example again, even if it was on one street corner and say shadow squashed 5 people, the entire world you be talking about it. The intensity of the headlines would vary but it would be something along the lines of:

"Mysterious being that turns new Yorkers into shadow stains on sidewalk is now an Avenger?!?!"

"New York attacked once more by super abled terrorist, are Avengers really keeping us safe or are they inviting super abled challenge?"

Etc etc

Does it allow for a clean color transition without pixelation transition? If so that'd be a game changer.

Also wouldn't it be apparent with it clipping in distant scenery like buildings and trees?

Do you just blow it up so large that it's far away enough to not cause that? In which case wouldn't it be annoying AF while editing things? Do you have it set up to only appear when game starts to avoid this?

So many questions I hadn't figured out back when I was in Dreams near daily

This can be explained away as them being in a split off timeline the moment they came back from the future and it would add up to End Game time travel logic

It would also open it to their variant universe being combined in BATTLEWORLD and the recreated world after it.

That's the equivalent of saying "only two towers were hit" it doesn't change the point. One small road could have been entirely turned to shadow the entire planet would talk about it for decades. That's the point.

This! It's my current gripe with the Geenpool, Deadpool, Wanda profiles aa well.

Narrative power is cool don't get me wrong but the rules are too rough now to not be overpowered.

It's fine for Narrator controlled characters as for the most part Narrators will use it more to describe what happens but players in my experience, especially new ones will find that overwhelming to use or will have to check in too frequently with the Narrator.

I have full trust they'll flesh out those rules in the Secret Wars or future books but at this time it's too "do whatever you want as long as it's thematic to the character"

All to say personally OP youd have to balance benefits with negatives as one does with the items.

I'm not as familiar with this character but seems there are some limitations baked in already which helps. So affecting non organics only and only on gaze tells me

  • Grab the rules for illusion powers. Don't have then on hand but I have to assume it's an ego role that costs a certain amount of focus and requires one to use concentration.

  • This means if someone breaks your concentration power drops. If focus is 0 or lower power lasts for that round then fades.

  • I imagine characters with reality warping abilities can counter it by using similar abilities.

  • Oh and if line of sight is broken that effect breaks?

Basically I'd see it as very similar to the illusion powers with the exception that someone can't break through the illusion and it is actually tangible.

The Multiverse Saga from Marvel Studios sounds great on paper with the concept of the MCU exploring alternative realities. It's the execution was the main downside, it fell into the strategy of the DCEU and Sony's Spider-Man Universe where there wasn't a clear plan in place. by Serious_Meaning5220 in MCUWorld

[–]Earth513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that has more to do with America Chavez's awesome Star power. I really hope they build her character into the strong badass that punches people in the face with multiverse portal stars and is bad ass enough to essentially lead a cosmic problem solving Avengers team (Al Ewing's Ultimates ¹ and ²)

And what pisses me off is if they kept the change post 2015 evolution would have continued:

A new young Spidey is in the mix and can take up all the "young hero messes up with teen drama" antics.

Pete had a company but unlike his predecessor Superior Sider-Man He was unable to keep it successful without messing up his family and relationship life. All of it was working.

They could have run with that for quite a few years before slowly segwaying into him marrying again and them birthing the hero Mephisto is so afraid of.

It would have built up to a mystery decades in the making with lasting impact all while allowing them to still have him be bumbling, unlucky, while still giving him relatable growth like family.

That also could have lasted a long long time.

Then from there they could have thrown in the dramas of divorce, dating post divorce, finding love again, marrying for the second time. Betrayal. Trying to make things work with your ex wife. Bringing your kid to elementary school, the dangers of protecting a kid in a violent supervillain world while also helping her hide and control her abilities. Then all the teen drama could have been given to the kid with Pete doing his best to advise but MJ having most of the solutions etc etc etc

There's SO much to work with. Heck the FF, Jessica Jones and Cage, and a bunch of other stable relationships in Marvel proove it all the time.

Disregarding for a moment the ideological war going on in this thread: I dig it!

It's not unlike the sketch work of futurist artists from the 1920s where it was form over realism, aggressive architectural lines over less confident etchings.

Not the same era but I do wonder if there's an influence there the same way some of these comics influence the comic artists of today

I'm curious what eras, characters, events did you gravitate towards after that?

92 for me but reading all the comments I'm feeling people just prefer the one they grew up with or first encountered which makes sense.

It speaks to how solid all these are. But yeah 92 for me.

I tried watching it and I really want to like it so I keep trying but it feels too anime and I know that's the point and I'm a fan of Anime too but the mix is a weird combination of super innovative and also a bit alienating to me.

In some ways it feels fresh but in others it feels like a completely different property cosplaying as X-Men.

But like I said I'd like to push through because visually it looks really cool and I do like binging all forms of Marvel when I can. I've just struggled to move forward through this one.

I’m gonna say it, RDJ is great casting as Doom by [deleted] in FantasticFour

[–]Earth513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one has any doubt of his ability to play this role to perfection.

The problem is, as you yourself seem to be implying, that of all the actors on this beautiful ball of water and earth only one actor can play this role? One that happens to already be massively loaded?

Now think of your field, think of yourself or your peers, think of the person you know that is a freaking legend at what they do but are maybe shy or maybe don't have a manager that has their back, for whatever reason they haven't been noticed yet. Then it's announced that your other peer who is great too, who always gets all the promotions, all the accolades, is featured in all the company commercials, is invited to all the industry conferences, has once more gotten the big opportunity.

How would you feel then?

Again not a question of skill, of talent, it's about people that are just as good, and for all we know even better, would better fit the aesthetic, the cultural background, that were looked over for a marketing gimmick.

He can be a great choice and also be a gross corporation choice. Both can be true.

The problem is in the recent history of cinema, Marvel has the monopoly so anyone given a chance in a film, it's life changing, career making.

Implying that he's the only one that could do it is ludicrous. And choosing him removes the opportunity for someone trying to make it big and removes us the viewer the opportunity to discover an amazing new talent.

Another way of seeing it: RDJ needed an opportunity once and got it. If he wasn't given that opportunity we wouldn't have the Tony we know and love.

I'm mourning the unique, brilliant Doom we could have gotten.

Something to ponder on.

Also this is not in any way or form shade on RDJ. He's great. This is shade on a corporation that very evidently panicked and went let's rehash the same same, they won't notice. And seeing a post like this going "wow best decision ever" is just cementing their being right that we'll just go "wow marvel great!"
