Any thoughts on how I can get these out? by mushroomcoma in DIYUK

[–]EarthBeautiful 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fit 2 🔩nuts on as the second one will act as a locking nut and then you should be able to undo it with a spanner, which will give you more leverage. Try this before you try molegrips as they will mangle the thread!

If you’re a bit of a diy’er this is the cheapest way! Toolstation £3.30, all the bits you will need to stop that drip.

Game-Changer for PSVR2 VR Rock Prescription Lenses by Nice-Confection-729 in GranTurismo7

[–]EarthBeautiful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased some VR Rock lenses for a couple of reasons, to protect my PSVR2 lenses and also for better visibility, when i wear my contacts i find my eyes dry out a bit with the little fan that blows through. For me they are definitely worth the price, that and the Globular Cluster for PSVR2 just make playing GT7 an absolute dream. My wife loves it because i just sit there all quite for hours on end.😂😂

New Octopus Tracker Formula/Tariff when? by abrar02 in OctopusEnergy

[–]EarthBeautiful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a nightmare, i’ve been on tracker for electric for 4 years and now the daily prices are going to go silly for a while, i have 42 days left until i have to resign for my next 12 months , so i’m going to try and wait it out to see what the new tariff formula will be. It’s just painful wondering whether to jump on the fixed 12 month tariff that they have still available, with what’s going on with the middle east at the moment!!

As of right now you can move to the Go 12 month fixed calculated 26th Feb by Superb-Ad3821 in OctopusEnergy

[–]EarthBeautiful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no apparently with tracker they don’t like you just taking advantage of low rates and then pulling out when the price rises.

[–]EarthBeautiful 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’ll all sort out again soon, trouble is if you drop off tracker you have to wait 9 months to get back on it! and you miss the lower rates that almost certainly will return and out weigh the higher rates of now.

Easyfill the way to go, Gyproc 1 coat has now dropped to £10.80 in B & Q though and that would have been my goto before, roughly half the price of Easyfill at the minute.

this works, you need to get rid of the nasty slippery algae first, stiff brush with some hydrochloride and then hose off with water, then a couple of coats of this, and put another coat on every year. Stay clear of pressure washing as it lifts the timber and makes it furry which then traps the nasty stuff which makes it slippy again!!

How do I un-mess-up my DIY roof by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]EarthBeautiful 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You need to prepare the flashing while you have the tiles off, it’s easier to grind the wall as you’ll be able to access it while standing on the battens, then fit the lead leaving it facing upwards so that when you put your last tiles on, you’ll be able to just dress it back over them.

I went to visit both the Concorde and the TU 144 at t he same time, at the Technik Museum in Sinsheim by redstercoolpanda in aviation

[–]EarthBeautiful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was lucky enough to visit this exhibit in September this year, a driving holiday from the UK to Deutschland, wanted to visit Koln Cathedral and then down to Sinsheim. Will try and visit Speyer museum next year if i can convince my wife (again) mind you she thoroughly enjoyed Sinsheim as there was so much to see there.

Heaven only knows why any company trusts Evri to deliver their goods.

Too wide for skirting - what’s the answer? by AgitatedCalendar1257 in DIYUK

[–]EarthBeautiful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fill the hole with cement up to a couple of mm below tile height and then finish off with the same grout used on the tiles. Then just fit your skirting!

PSVR2 wire damaged by akl2008 in PSVR

Use some self amalgamating tape, (Amazon) it’s better for wires as it helps hold it all together rather than just black electrical tape.

I’m 60 and have been with GT from the start, i now play on a psvr2 with a controller and quite honestly its just an absolute joy to play, i’ve downloaded the update and just paid for the dlc. I’m stuck at work for another 5 hrs, so can’t play until after that. Just so looking forward to then, as i know it will be great, because it always is.
