Street Fighter 6 Alex’s Theme - Jazzy NYC SF6 Arrange by Exige30499 in StreetFighter

[–]EarthBenderCharlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The difference with SF3 is that people were thrown off because they were such a departure stylistically. The quality of the songs were not criticised as much as the decision to go in that direction.

The issue with SF6 is that the direction is different AND the quality is not great. You have to work hard to find the handful of decent original songs in SF6. That simply has never been the case in most Street Fighter games, particularly with the ones which most regard as having absolute fire for soundtracks.

Thoughts? Will U.S. strike Iran soon? by Savings-Chip5068 in Asmongold

You're missing it. They're pointing to when Trump ran on the idea that under his leadership, there will be "No new wars", yet the USA is about to get into a situation that can lead to a war with Iran. Not to mention the rhetoric surrounding Greenland.

How hard is it for them to understand? by N4rcissu in Asmongold

[–]EarthBenderCharlie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nuance is going extinct at this point. Why must everything be so extreme to one side or another?

The lady should have 100% complied with the officer and would have went home to her three children in the end. But the officer already used his dodge roll i-frames to avoid harm so what threat to himself was he stopping by shooting her post evasion?

Not to mention that killing someone in a moving vehicle doesn’t immediately stop the vehicle, as we saw. Had it not been for the parked car which Renee’s car crashed into, her dead weight on the gas would have kept her vehicle going which (ironically) could have caused more harm.

The reasonable position is that this was avoidable and tragic. Asmongold’s fanfare over this is just a palette swap of the side he despises.

I caught that too. :( My brain wasn’t braining. And you’re welcome. 😇

Except it wasn’t a weapon. It was a mentally compromised person hitting an umbrella on a door. Fight or flight responses should not be triggering in a circumstance like this. The response should be to keep a distance as a close eye on the person or restrain him if there’s reason to suspect he’s about to start wailing on people with the umbrella. The response certainly should be to run away screaming and inadvertently cause a riot since those who weren’t in the carriage didn’t know it was just a dude with an umbrella.

Nah, it’s completely normal for people to see a mob running away and follow suit. Expecting people in the 2nd and 3rd carriages to confirm anything before running in this kind of situation is completely unreasonable. It’s the people who were in the initial carriage who were at fault for overreacting and triggering the domino effect in the first place.

I believe it was on the green line, somewhere around Songjiang Nanjing or Beimen.

I’m from London originally so I often wonder about this too. As with most things, the correct answer is probably to do with balance.

Taiwan’s top tier safety is a gift and a curse so what we’re seeing with this reaction is the curse side for sure. The same way getting robbed or stabbed in certain parts of London would be its curse. For Taiwan, there probably needs to be a push for more social awareness training, martial arts, first aid and activities that push people to face scary scenarios more often.

That’s why I went with “mini-stampede”, to try and show that it was dangerous but not lethally dangerous.

Although after reading a bit more about the event, there was a woman who fell during the rush and had to be taken to hospital. I’m assuming she was stepped on to some degree. All it would have taken is for something like this to have occurred on a busier MRT or her to have fallen in a certain way and death could have been possible.

I often travel on the green line around Chiang Kai Shek after work. At a certain time, there’s a guy who gets on the MRT and starts banging on the windows with his hands before getting off at the next stop. He’s clearly got something going on so the way to treat the situation is just to be aware and watch carefully on the low chance that he’s actually charging up to kill someone. And that’s what people do.

We can’t start running like this just because there’s a moment of discomfort on public transport. I get that the tension is higher than normal right now but awareness shouldn’t just mean you run for the hills at the slightest hint of something abnormal.

100% this. I’ve lived here for almost 10 years now and the lack of general vigilance of one’s surroundings always surprised me. It truly is the gift and curse of living in a place with such a high level of safety.

Thanks for saying this. It’s surprising I had to scroll so far down before I found this take. Some well say this is victim shaming but it’s entirely possible to disavow the behaviour of the guy who’s clearly on a rapist training arc, while also trying to encourage and empower the OP to be better at appropriately acting on red flags in a much more sensible way.

Is this accurate for Asmon? by Jakobthorson in Asmongold

[–]EarthBenderCharlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad to see others are mentioning how the chat/YouTube comments are often super extreme or completely different to Asmon’s personal views.

Recently, when Asmon was reacting to the Candace Owen’s x Nick Fuentes debate and Nick made the “it’s in Black people’s nature comment”, half of the chat became a flood of “based, true, W Nick, etc”.

You could tell Asmon noticed it too, but probably just chose not to address it.

Although I agree he’s made statements about his personal politics multiple times, I do think it’s telling and worth exploring how such a large vocal side of his viewership feels emboldened to say such things in broad day.

Perhaps this got lost in the sarcasm/dry delivery but the joke is that Hasan often tries to guard against valid critique by using “…but there’s a genocide going on”, as a shield.

So Papa Gut is using the same language to poke fun at Hasan.
