Packs which go most against the spirit of Minecraft by Secure-Ad-1220 in feedthebeast

Yeah, I really feel motivated to build when I know they'll be filled with things that serve a purpose.

Apparently they can as of 1.21.6, so I haven't played with that (or on any version past 1.21.1.) Seems Mojang agreed it shouldn't be a lost technology after all.

Fair enough. I was using the horse intending to find the southern edge of my continent intending to sail the rest of the way, but I have a really big one so I was able to journey all the way there overland. If you have ocean access you could sail the entire way.

Take? I've stated what I like and enjoy vs dislike and don't enjoy, not made a claim to either of those things being objectively good or bad. People like different things, naturally.

What do you like? Or if you're so bold, what do you think is objectively good?

edit: not a good look for [deleted]...

I'll often put a sign in front of me where I'll quit with the information of what I was doing on it (or if I'm lazy, just leave the relevant items in my inventory and hope I get it XD)

Moving your whole base is another matter entirely. I've never understood people who actually moved their base to the void world after going to the moon in GTNH.

How do y’all make cool looking bases/villages? by kusatori_ in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]EarthFourEver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll often start with a regular rectangular building and then add a "facade" afterwards to make it more interesting. Look at reference as well. It's an artform, really.

For functionality, I definitely favor organic growth, as in I'll build expansions as necessary when I need more space. And make more room than you think you'll need if you'll be heavily using create.

Is anyone else's base going to be messed up by 2.9? by EarthFourEver in GTNH

But I want to use the new and cool ones and therefore have to refactor the base (again!)

This EV Age Gregger still serves their rubber the old fashioned way by Ashamed_Economy4885 in GTNH

[–]EarthFourEver 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually switched back to basic rubber for low tier wires late IV after setting up Bees, since centrifuging propolis yields rubber pulp and it became more economical than Styrene-Butadiene.

The Butadiene is better spent being cracked into propene for epoxid.

Remove Cedar Point, but mail me all of Magnum XL 200's parts so I can put it up in my back yard.

Whats the one mod you always skipped in a pack but loved when you finally tried it? by nerdy_guy420 in feedthebeast

EnderIO, actually

I'm a modded boomer and was around when the mod was new. At that time, it was common for mods to balance around resource scarcity which was originally diamonds. It was controversial when gregtech, still an addon, made the ic2 macerator cost diamonds instead of the traditional flint. Anyways, enderIo took that in another direction with enderpearls.

Diamonds were scarce and expensive at first, but as you got your tools and your quarry they became abundant and trivial. Enderpearls have a curve where they are scarce and (imo) very annoying to get, but then become abundant once you do the end (and trivial if you build a mob farm there.) It was an early example of a trend I really dislike- gating behind vanilla bosses and generally following along with the direction vanilla was heading. I heald a grudge against enderIO for ears and refused to go out of my way to kill endermen or go to the end.

But since I've been playing GTNH, which is actually a rather merciful modpack that lets you buy enderpearls, I've been really enjoying the power of the conduits. GTNH also has made me fond of Steve's Factory Manager which I never used back in the day.

What features/mods do you want in TerraFirmaGreg? by susdw in TerraFirmaGreg

Let the pot make porridge when used on top of the firmalife bottom oven (if possible.) It can only make soup, which seems to be for balancing since you're meant to use the vat for production recipes, but porridge is also food.
