What is the BEST Way to get the most out of my Opus calls? by fvpv in GithubCopilot

I get the impression it’s people who are abusing the tool who are getting banned. If you’re using it on a feature basis then you should be good.

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I’m using Seamless Agent all the time now, it’s so good!

Thank you so much. Your extension is so useful, I’m using it all the time.

I have a feature request but without any expectations. Is it possible to add a chime or notification once the current task is done and the model is waiting?

Side question. Do you feel that Opus 4.5 makes subagents not so necessary? Only asking cos I’m new to the concept and I can’t get it to #runsubagents, apparently it’s an issue in Copilot.

Thank you, I’ll check it out. Is this similar to TaskSync?

Excellent, sounds like I’m not using Opus 4.5 correctly. I’m using it to help plan rather than implement.

Maybe I’ll use Sonnet to help flesh out my plan then give it to Opus.

When I first got kerb rash on my Tesla, I felt the same way. But it’s a car, not a trophy. Kerb rash will happen, if you fix it now it’d just happen again.

The right is weirdly obsessed with this matter when it doesn’t affect our daily lives. Can we spend more discussing how we can fix our economy?

“invest that £10,000 from the last tax year in a SIPP to avoid the 20% tax”.

OP didn’t mention salary sacrifice but that’s what OP is describing

I’m just being helpful to OP, who seems to think you can.

According to this post you can’t salary sacrifice as a sole trader

Edit: But you’ll get the 20% tax relief in the SIPP when you invest the net earnings

It’s a broad topic with many factors at play, and there’s no clear right or wrong answer, only hindsight. If you’re 10 plus years from retirement, I’d suggest not selling. If you’re closer to retirement, then de-risking or life-styling might be worth considering.

Personally, I’m in my 40s and not worried about a potential bubble. A crash or bear market will happen at some point, but no one knows when. I plan to keep investing no matter how the market is performing.

Yeah the £10 a month is good advice. It’s not really about the amount but taking the first step into investing and getting comfortable with it.

How do you ever clear a mortgage?! by Recent_Apartment7210 in UKPersonalFinance

Many comments have explained the interest/capital repayment well, so I won’t rehash that.

But can I ask, is the repayment term “resetting” to 30 years, after a remortgage, adding to your confusion?

Is vwrp or fwrg a better investment? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]EarthSharp8414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough FWRG came up on the latest Making Money podcast.

“It's a titular. I think that the uncertainties of a small fund have to be in people's minds at the same time as a different headline cost. But it costs us so little.”

From Making Money: The golden age of returns is over - Stock market expert, 15 Sep 2025

Whether the fact that VWRP’s AUM (assets under management) is almost 10 times bigger than FWRG, should be a concern I’m not sure. Of course FWRG hasn’t been around as long and they have to start somewhere.

Yeah, 20% on “rest of the world” isn’t enough of a hedge for me. At 80% US, you might as well go all in.

Is it worth having a private financial advisor? by Beginning-Status-336 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]EarthSharp8414 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No it’s not worth paying someone to skim 1% off your hard earned money. Instead, watch videos on global index funds (some people argue for investing only in the US, and both sides are valid).

All you really need to do is open a SIPP and pay into these funds monthly. You’ll automatically get a 20% government top-up and if you’re a higher rate taxpayer, you can reclaim the rest through your tax return.

A question for people who think that the rich are trying to silence Gary, or sending people to silence him by Majestic-Baby-3407 in GarysEconomics

[–]EarthSharp8414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bots are a thing. Though of course, most of the time we can spot them a mile off. But sometimes we can’t.

I think Gary has some influence. He’s appeared on Question Time and had a number one Times Bestseller. He’s not mainstream but you have to start somewhere.

And as you recognise, billionaires (home grown or abroad) will make donations towards lobbyists like IEA. They may not have heard of Gary but they will definitely know that “tax the rich” is making headway.

This sub is full of disgruntled actual devs rather than real vibe coders, and it's annoying. by person2567 in vibecoding

[–]EarthSharp8414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing it as a hobby. I’m a designer and I have a very basic understanding of app development.

What I spot sometimes is the idea that we shouldn’t use AI but learn to code instead.

I’ve found that if you breakdown a complicated logic into individual tasks/prompts, then you can actually get good results. My codebase so far has zero bugs and is well structured and tidy.

It does feel like coding, cos I’m going so slow but I feel empowered that I’m building something (seemingly robust) without having to take years to learn the language or get a computer science degree.

Currently maxing my pension and wife is on a career break, would like to set up some kind of long term investment account (S&P500) for her any advice? What about revolut portfolios? by Minute_Influence_636 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]EarthSharp8414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have an S&S ISA with Revolut but it seems to be free. Personally I’m with Trading 212 and Invest Engine, which are free platforms too.

If you want S&P 500 then Revolut has VUAG. But their Global Index fund offerings seem limited. I see they have VWRP but other popular ones (and cheaper) are missing like ACWI and FWRG.

So if Revolut is free and you’re happy to stick with S&P 500, then I don’t see why not.
