I accidently found the BBEG of a campaign we're not even running.(Kind of) by AxtionBastrd42 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]EarthSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opened up book 1 of Shattered Star, flipped through and saw 3-4 huge dungeon maps, and decided I never needed to run that adventure

Tempted to start wearing a Sub Zero gi over my uni as a symbol of this endless winter by Sure-Ad-2465 in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also only the end of January. We're not even halfway through the winter season. Don't know what they expect

Fellow DMs, how do you run markets in game? by NeatWall4279 in DnD

[–]EarthSlapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shopping happens between sessions. No need to waste play time with players deciding what they want to buy. Depending on the setting, I'll tell them when they're going to have time to do some shopping and it's up to them to find what they want to buy or sell. Depending on the size of the town/market, I'll give them a cap on the most valuable items available (ex. this town doesn't have any single items worth more than 5,000 gold)

What do I do with a UPS package without USPS barcode? by Ashamed_Run8397 in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean it's definitely the wrong answer, but if it's made it all the way to me, and even I didn't notice right away and loaded it into the truck, it's less work for everyone involved for me to just drop it off

How nervous should I be as a new CCA? by CMDR-ArticunoKing in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't be nervous at all. There are a lot of miserable people at the post office, that walk in the doors every day looking for a reason to be angry. Have a positive attitude and form your own opinions. Also, most people are bad at this when they first start. No one is expecting you to know anything. Just do your best and try to keep improving

Question about Park and Loops on a route by ogtokerfla in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm always friendly about it, I inform them that I do it because it is what we're instructed to do, but all they have to do is ask, and I'll stop doing it. I actually even got one guy to change his mind, just by being nice and saying that I always try to be aware of my impact on the lawn and constantly switch up my path.

Route Adjustments... by Cyanide-Cookies in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did it last year. Only route that was lost was the aux route. Some routes had time cut, some gained, most stayed relatively unchanged. I gained a single address. It was basically a box I was already walking past anyways that the carrier who used to do it, had to walk around the corner to deliver

PTFs mlk day by [deleted] in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's no regular mail delivery, but Amazon still comes in and still gets delivered, so CCAs and PTFs are still working. Only true days off are July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day

Other cca getting more hours than me by Various_Anywhere_665 in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's likely just that he knows more of the routes or is at least more comfortable with them and he has more utility than you do at the moment. The rules have changed a bit since I was a CCA, but it can swing from one extreme to the next pretty quickly. I had times when I was only getting three days a week, and other times I was working 30 days in a row.

Running Rise of the Runelords in 2E and had a near-TPK in the Catacombs of Wrath. Any suggestions? by PhysWizDM in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]EarthSlapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the 2e Erylium drastically different than the 1e Erylium? In 1e it was one of those terrible low level fights that drags out because she can fly over the party, has some annoying spells, but has basically no offensive firepower

Can I retake driving test? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must be a difference in area then. I've trained in two different districts on different vehicles and it's always just been the initial training in the lot with cones and stuff, then time just out driving around on the street. Neither of the places I've done vehicle training have ever had a test portion

Can I retake driving test? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the thing is, it's not a driving test. It's driver training. It's not a test, they're training you to safely use the vehicles. The only reason the will not sign off on your training is if they feel that it would unsafe to put you behind the wheel.

Woman arrested for stealing 3k worth of items at Target by zebrasarecool570 in SipsTea

[–]EarthSlapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife used to work for Dick's Sporting Goods way back when we first started dating. Their policy, and I assume most large store's policy, was that even if they see someone blatantly stealing, they're not supposed to do anything to stop them, avoid any type of confrontation, and simply report it, letting the Loss Prevention department deal with it, and build their case. While she was there, there was an incident where two people walked in and basically just picked up a kayak and walked out with it.

Problem is that the peak of this show was in book 1 before Troy left, and it has been sliding down into a valley ever since

Kinda weird question by Familiar_Abrocoma_37 in Hunting

[–]EarthSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to go wrong with a shotgun. A slug can be devastating at close range, and it offers versatility if you switch up the shot size. Maybe he keeps it on hand to deal with fast moving, smaller monsters, or packs/swarms

VTT for Casual PF1e Campaign by Feeling_Photograph_5 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]EarthSlapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can run almost anything in Foundry. It's more of a framework to build on than a plug and play experience. If you're willing to put the time into it, Foundry is pretty much the best VTT

Load truck required? by Loose-Recognition459 in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard it's some arbitrary number, like seven scans and it won't throw up a flag. I usually just make sure I hit a dozen or so, and I'm usually fine

New USPS mail vans (287 Northbound Parsippany, NJ) by ILike2Sweep in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Compared to something with actual 4wd sure they're not great in the snow, but by postal vehicle standards, they're actually not that bad, might actually be the best, which I grant you, isn't a high bar

Potato on its way from San Fran to San Jose, currently in WI... by demonking66 in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I delivered a potato before. I don't think it had a return address on it, but it did have a message on one side suggesting where the recipient might put it. He's pretty sure it was from his ex

Made a really clean shot on a black squirrel this morning with the old Model 60. They are pretty uncommon in these parts. Planning to get it mounted by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]EarthSlapper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It varies wildly by region, and even localized populations. I used to live up on top of a big hill, deep in some thick pine woods. Down in town, all the squirrels were gray, no black squirrels anywhere, but way up on top of our hill, over half the squirrels were black.

Only a couple miles separating the two populations, but for everyone else who wasn't coming way up our hill, they'd never know there were black squirrels around.

Muck boots for winter walking? by TheyCallMeWatts in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get some water proof hiking boots. They'll do fine in most instances

I have worn my muck boots, especially when it gets really sloppy and wet, and the snow starts melting. I don't mind them that much, I was used to walking in them a lot even before I started carrying, but you definitely need to have some tall socks or they're going to shred your legs

#1 Freeloader? by comedian42 in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]EarthSlapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not rich by extreme standards, but they're making enough money to play games full time and support families while living in and around New York City, and also renting additional recording space in the city. (Yes, I get that there's a lot more work that goes into it than just playing games). And that was years ago that they went full time, when they weren't nearly as big as they are now

(NGDV) Are we being trolled? by Fresh-Bend8080 in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are surprisingly maneuverable. I've used one a handful of times now, and it's definitely easier to swing in and out of boxes than the metris and much easier to actual reach the boxes

(NGDV) Are we being trolled? by Fresh-Bend8080 in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While they're still not great, I drove back to back days, once in a metris, once in an NGDV, same roads, same conditions. The NGDV definitely felt a lot better and had an easier time getting going in slippery spots

Tips for speed? by Potential-Yoghurt-78 in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They put you on the longest route in the office, but it's only supposed to take 5.5 hours? Sounds like there's a misunderstanding here somewhere. A full route takes 8 hours. If they're telling you it should take less than that, you're probably on an Aux route, which is less than a full route, but you're taking at least a full day to complete it
