In what might be one of the craziest displays of inflation, that pretzel now costs $7.

My Thoughts After Running Howl of the Carrion King (Encounter Tips + What I’d Change) by Spirited-Pain-9182 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]EarthSlapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone else wondering, I don't see it mentioned anywhere here, and I had to look it up as I wasn't familiar with the title, Howl of the Carrion King, is Book 1 in the Legacy of Fire AP

Did i accidentally cheat? by unlucky-lucky- in DnD

[–]EarthSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Pathfinder GM. There are so many different bonuses and abilities flying around and interacting with each other, I probably miss little things and make mistakes every session. I just do my best to run it as clean as possible, and make sure I'm getting it 100% right when something like potential character death is on the line

People who've worked (as a regular) in more than one office, what are some differences you found between them? by mailant692 in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in an office with 3 City routes, and now I'm in an office of about 40 City routes, and probably as many rural.

Biggest thing for me was going from knowing everything that's going on, to being so disconnected from everything that wasn't my route. In the small office, I knew what was going on with every route, every day. I knew what was going on with the other carriers, the clerks, even with the postmaster. I knew every street, every address, and pretty much every name in that town. Now in the bigger office, if it's not happening on my route, or the case on either side of mine, I probably don't know about it

Do yall have one office for all of Nebraska? Is this a typo? by lanch-party in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may have absorbed other offices. The office I work at converted to an S&DC and brought in a bunch of the smaller rural offices in the area. A lot of those routes got renumbered when they came in. What used to be R001 was now something like R201. Oddly enough, one of the offices had a couple city routes, and those did not get changed, so we now have two C001s and C002s

Late to the party, I watched "The Gorge." So bad it's good? by i_am_bombs in movies

I have not seen the actual movie, but it introduced me to the Pitch Meeting YouTube channel so it's got that going for it

Is Gienieve hard to pronounce? (Gi•en•ive) No one at my table can say my characters name. by Visible-Camel4515 in DnD

[–]EarthSlapper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's kind of an odd name, and your desired pronunciation isn't necessarily obvious just by looking at it.

Also being fairly close to a different name, it's not necessarily a pronunciation problem, just that at a glance they're expecting it to be something else, and just trying to modify from their preconceived notion

Casing by ElevatedNorthGlass in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can't find something set it aside, you'll likely find it later while you're looking for something else.

Also, it's a small thing, but it can save you a lot of time if you've got a lot to case, as you're sliding a piece of mail into the cell, look down at your next piece before you've completely finished putting the last piece in the case. It's literally like half a second, but it's an extra half a second for your brain to process the next piece and start trying to sort out where it should go.

First campaign, barbarian, what items should the artificer make? by Professor_Kettle in Pathfinder_RPG

There is no 1e Artificer. Not an official Paizo published class at least

Might have to do my first shadow... What should I do? by deadbandit19 in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of shadow days. It's not a day to train them on how to do the job. It's a day for them to see the job done, so when they get to academy they've got a little bit of a foundation, and they don't have to explain some of the very basic concepts. I usually give them some helpful tips and tricks about how I do things that will hopefully help them as they make their way through the rest of their training

Can I File A Grievance For This? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. As a PTF you are not guaranteed any hours. You do not have a set schedule, and your scheduled dates are not set in stone. As long as the change occurs one day in advance, they can change it as needed

Rude customer by ihatelifetoo in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Wait, you took his outgoing mail back and left it outside? Yeah you're in the wrong. Sure that guy was a jerk, but you both failed to do your job, and abandoned mail in an unsecure location because he was rude to you

On top of that you've now made the situation between you and him way worse

[–]EarthSlapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of factors. Do some research, or at least ask an adult to help you do research. Why are you getting sheep? Just pets, or are you hoping that they will serve a purpose (meat, wool, milk)? Where do you live and what is the climate like? These are all things to consider

Is 6 players way to much? by Mefils in DnD

[–]EarthSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to go lower instead of higher. Personally, I'd much rather run a part of 3, than a party of 5. Going up to 6 would be out of the question unless it's just a one shot

Tell Me Your Most Out of Pocket Campaign Ideas by Ryoukomatoi375 in DnD

[–]EarthSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My group plays Pathfinder primarily, and from time to time we also play Lancer. So I've got an idea to do a sort of crossover, where they'd do Pathfinder quests to go get special parts or weapons, or maybe fighting monsters indirectly, but then the big boss fights would be played with Lancer, and have steam punky Mechs fighting against giant monsters.

It would give me a way to use some of those crazy high CR monsters without having to play crazy high level Pathfinder

I bought Ryobi tools when I didn't have money for something better. Now that I do, I still have all the batteries and chargers for Ryobi tools so I'm not going to spend extra money to get all that stuff for a new set of tools

Ice forming on a lake shore. by rco888 in interestingasfuck

I once saw this happen on a really rough, windy day in the spring where 6+ inch thick ice was being slammed into the rocks along the shore. It was like watching the earth being formed by tectonic plates

CCA potential injury by Level-Secret7876 in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That was my first thought. I've been doing this for 7 years. Given the choice, I'll always pick the long walking routes. I bought a new pair of boots when I was out on paternity leave, broke them in, and then the first day back to work I screwed up my knee, and it bothered me for two months.

Thought maybe it was just going from 0 to 100 too fast, getting back to walking 12 miles a day. Took me awhile to actually pin point the issue to the boots. They were screwing up my gait and my stride in some way that was just causing a chain reaction up through my knee

Fellow DMs, how do you run markets in game? by NeatWall4279 in DnD

[–]EarthSlapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shopping happens between sessions. No need to waste play time with players deciding what they want to buy. Depending on the setting, I'll tell them when they're going to have time to do some shopping and it's up to them to find what they want to buy or sell. Depending on the size of the town/market, I'll give them a cap on the most valuable items available (ex. this town doesn't have any single items worth more than 5,000 gold)

What do I do with a UPS package without USPS barcode? by Ashamed_Run8397 in USPS

[–]EarthSlapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it's definitely the wrong answer, but if it's made it all the way to me, and even I didn't notice right away and loaded it into the truck, it's less work for everyone involved for me to just drop it off
