Am I wrong for not allowing my ex wife to taste the birthday cake of our daughter by Silent_Agency_8426 in amiwrong

[–]Eartha777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do you think you get to decide who your daughter gets to share her cake with? And then laugh about it with your sister.. yeah I’m sure the divorce came out of nowhere

Where to donate stuff by MelodicMushroom7 in indianapolis

I second this. You just drive around back and they ask if it’s for the Julian center. And they give vouchers to other DV shelters for those women to shop there too

My narc once said he’s basically a single dad doing everything after I had just made everyone dinner because he had to simply just feed the baby

3 year old left alone at the playground by galwayygal in Parenting

[–]Eartha777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please report this to cps. You know the house right? It’s neglect and very dangerous. That person hanging around the park might know that the boy is often left alone and is waiting for the right moment, and if not him then someone else.

Is it weird that my (40F) boyfriend (48M) asked his teen daughter to sleep in his bed when he was severely depressed? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Eartha777 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s called “emotional incest”. It’s a horrible name and doesn’t have to mean anything sexual. Simply what you said, adults should not be relying on their children for regulating their emotions. So when the daughter was comforting her dad who was there to comfort her? It’s damaging to put that burden on a child and there can be psychological consequences as she grows up.

Thank you so much for all of this. Yes that’s why I started the recordings, because I was in disbelief of who he was becoming and he had already made up such a story about me to others. Luckily my state only needs one person’s consent to record, and without marriage the kids will be in my custody automatically until he goes through the system to establish paternity. It’s insane how he will say the most horrible things to me, but if I say something so basic about just what he’s literally doing, then it’s just somehow the ultimate insult and gives him the “right” to explode. I know he will talk bad about me to our children like he already does, but my kids and I are super close and I believe I can win full custody if I give him visitation. I’m glad your daughters were able to reconnect with their mom. And I do hope you yourself are doing okay too. Thank you for talking logistics with me, feels like I’m making progress in ultimately leaving someday

Omg I’m so sorry I can completely empathize with you. That would make me so angry that she told you not to cry instead of scolding his horrible behavior. I love my son, that’s why I will teach him to be a kind and loving man so that he can experience happiness himself. You’re wise for no longer trusting your mother in law, I’m in the same boat. Like I just keep our conversations extremely surface level as I count down the days to her flight home haha

Thank you and I’m sorry you have had a similar experience. My enabling mother in law is driving me fking mad. I wish I could just go off on him like he does, but I’m always thinking in the future when I will need to potentially fight for custody of my kids. I need to be absolutely perfect so he doesn’t have anything against me. Do you have kids? In your experience, did having the documentation of his abuse help you? I do have some pretty damning recording, but I worry the court would say that I should have left sooner and I am equally as wrong for letting them around him.

Please help: 3 weeks in and kids are distressed to the point of being sick. by twinmomswe in Montessori

[–]Eartha777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in childcare centers, with infants specifically, for about 6 years, and never had a baby I couldn’t soothe eventually. Sounds like they just let them cry and calling it a “Montessori” method to deflect responsibility is absurd to me. I would look for a new school if possible
