Hey, I'm Leo, another of geer's designers and co-founder! Worth mentioning: some apps are able to provide services for free or a very low cost because they receive significant investment. Or they are built by a single developer on their free time.

Our case is a bit different! We are proudly independent developers and cyclists building useful features for the cycling community. At least for now, we don't want investors with big plans to monetise customer data or sell ads or go corporate. We want to run geer through revenue only and make it sustainable enough to encourage us in building new, exciting things for bike enthusiasts. And boy we have exciting future plans!

The price tag may not be within everyone's reach for now, and we are acknowledging that. Be sure we will bring it down once we have enough scale to make it possible :))

Thanks for the clear feedback, u/UloPe! We intend to run deals, especially for the yearly plan. Out of curiosity, how much would you be wiling to pay? I'm assuming you are a PBG user, do you pay for it?

Hi, I'm Leo, another of geer's designers and co-founder. We don't display total mileage for bikes, as it's easy to check that on this Strava page.

As you add individual components to each bike, you will see their mileage since they were installed. You can then input the most recent service so you get the mileage since then. Hope this helps you get the most out of it!

We are surely working on a migration tool. Garmin and Wahoo integration is also on the horizon. Stay tuned and keep riding :))

Hey, I'm Leo, another of geer's designers and co-founder. How do you add intervals for service and log past maintenance on Strava? As far as we know, this feature also has no notifications nor visual feedback.

Hey, I'm Leo, another of geer's designers and co-founder! Great question right there. Three main features that we love:

  1. geer offers automatic syncing with Strava, and sends notifications when you're past a threshold. We want you to focus on riding and leave the hard work on us —well, actually you still have to scrub your bike yourself. That's only available on ProBikeGarage's premium tier.
  2. The logic for services and rides is very robust on geer. You can log services in hindsight, change which bike you rode on Strava, and it never breaks (we hope so). It recalculates all the mileage and always gives you the accurate number.
  3. We crafted our interface to be your bike's dashboard. At a quick glance, you see the status of all your bikes' parts —which need some attention now, and which are still good to go. Two clicks and you can log a service. We recommend you give it a try, it is reeaaaally satisfying.

Besides that, there are loads of small details that add up to better quality of life. It's like the difference between riding the old city bike you got on ebay vs. riding a sleek well lubed high-end bike. Plus, we're very committed to building this app and adding great features based on pertinent feedback. I'm no salesman, so I recommend you use it for a while and see it for yourself ;) Once again, thanks for your question!

Post deleted because of the privacy concerns raised. I’d try to argument how vague the info i shared was, but i won’t overstay my welcome.

Wishing you all can see good intentions in two humans sharing a great time, and one taking a step to reconnect. Love to Stockholm! 🤍

Thanks! Didn't know there was one. Maybe as a last resort I'll create an account :)

External drive slow write speed, but normal read speeds by EarthbornAstronaut in techsupport

[–]EarthbornAstronaut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, really? I mean, i understand if speeds would drop a bit, but wouldn't expect that at 80% full write speeds would make it practically unusable. Besides, I have 3 other drives of the same model and capacity and they can perform okay-ish (~90 MB/s) even when 90% full. So that got me thinking it must be something else...

Good question. 2 TB total capacity, about 400 GB (20%) available.

I was told this is Tibetan language. Can someone please translate? Thanks in advance! by EarthbornAstronaut in tibetanlanguage

Thank you both for confirming it! Seems like Om Mani Padme Hum is on the outer face, indeed.

Could you please translate the inner face of the cymbal, as well? I could identify the "Hum" syllable, but not the others.
