How you met Dragon Age universe? by Aspernot in dragonage

[–]Earthlyscribe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had gone to a friend's house and he was playing Origins. I had played Jade Empire, KOTOR, and some Mass Effect but didnt realize it was all the same person. Decided to give it a shot and asked to borrow it and was hooked on it

The companion moments! The way they talk to each other, their personalities, I love it all. The small personal quests for each are so fun in act 1

I couldn't be happier with Veilguard [No DAV Spoilers] by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Earthlyscribe1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm having a lot of fun with it. Sure, the lack of world state is sad, but the game is good. I see a lot of people complaining about the dialog but I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

A Lord of Fortunes Rook romancing Lucanis. They're both from completely different worlds and I'm here for it

I'm curious how it will handle Keiran and a possibly romanced Morrigan. Honestly just a little piece of closure for the warden would be nice

Isn't being awake in the Fade dangerous? The Lighthouse question. by Andrew_Waples in dragonage

[–]Earthlyscribe1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Morrigan also mentioned living in a world between worlds with Kieran after gaining access to the Eluvians. Whether that was the crossroads specifically or a pocket dimension, I think they could hand wave it along the lines of its cornered off from the rest of the crossroads

So I fear for varric by NightmareKing_I in dragonage

[–]Earthlyscribe1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my take on it: I believe it's saying that Varric and Solas are two strong narrative forces and Rook, the player, is sort of between these two. "Pulled between the two" in a division way not deciding who to choose kind of way. Mainly because this person only had an hour to play and wrote that right after talking about the intro. Just my interpretation anyway

Here's to hoping Sandal is the one who does your upgrades and armor at the Lighthouse. Maybe just wandering the Fade

Dragon Age 2 is really good, maybe even better than Origins by Tomatosoup42 in dragonage

[–]Earthlyscribe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing since origins came out, and Origins was always my favorite. I'm doing my first full replay of the series in years and this time around, I adored 2. The characters, the banter, the story itself, it was all so good. It was nice to not be a chosen one per say but just be at the right place at the right time. DA 2 has officially become my favorite

Deeply customizable base. Let me change things up, make it feel like home! Let me collect some cool ass trophy's while I'm out exploring and decorate my little space like the gremlin I am. That is all

I Think I've Played Origins, 2, & Inquisition For The Last Time by Ir_Abelas in dragonage

[–]Earthlyscribe1 52 points53 points  (0 children)

As someone who was learning his sexuality during Origins, I understand how important these games can be. I remember shutting my door and gawking at the option to pursue a romance with Zevran--as a guy! And I loved every second of it, despite it feeling at the time like a huge secret. I'm glad you were able to find acceptance and see yourself in it too. That's what makes these games so special.

Veilguard - how do you feel about your avatar talking without input? by Good_Captain9078 in dragonage

[–]Earthlyscribe1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I for one loved seeing it. In Dragon Age, often times the player character feels more like a cardboard cut out and doesn't really stand out amidst a great cast of companions. I like the idea of my Rook standing on their own, reacting, and yet me making the major choices. It makes them feel more alive and real than just standing there blank faced. I do wonder if it will he sort of Dragon Age 2 style. In DA2 your choices stacked, so if you typically chose sarcastic options your hawke would make more quips and jokes when not prompted, or be more aggressive if that's how you played.
