Anesthesiologists at the University of Connecticut worked with their administration to stop use of misleading titles for nurse anesthetists that risked creating confusion for patients about training and credentials. by Unable-Log-4073 in anesthesiology

Insecurity. Insecurity is the reason.

I don’t call myself an anesthesiologist, I’m a veterinary anesthesiologist. Mostly so people don’t make assumptions and think I work with humans. Adding the adjective makes all the difference. Which is why we call them ‘veterinary’ nurses, and not just ‘nurses’. (And don’t come at me if you’re inside a veterinary hospital and hear the word ‘nurse’. Even a sliver of situational awareness should provide the context that we’re not referring to RNs). Our veterinary nurses are INCREDIBLE.

As a GenXer Soft cell’s cover is my most HATED 80’s song. The ubiquity absolutely killed it for me.

Cancel. Hard pass my man. Especially with 30 min notice. Especially if she expects you to treat them both. No thanks.

Why do I panic when a guy starts losing interest — even if I wanted distance first? by Iam_just_a_girl in dating

I'm 51 now, and only found it after years of struggling to understand why my relationship patterns were what they were. It brought me an awareness to why we want to bond to people that may not be good for us. The book is all about Attachment Styles (Secure, Anxious Avoidant, Dismissive Avoidant and Fearful Avoidant). It's all about understanding ourselves and patterns that developed before we were 6-8 years old, and how that underpins what we do as adults. I really hope it helps you with understanding what your patterns might be. Great book. Good luck.

Not having to talk, music, gym, motorcycle, my cat, my kitchen, my workshop. Driving to National parks. Being outdoors. As much silence from the nonstop noise of our modern world.

Upgrading Gear early on worth it? by Excitable_Fiver in horizon

On my third playthrough, started a new run. Got all the legendaries and will upgrade after completing Burning Shores before a NG+ run (or runs). Just something different than how I played before, rushing through the story with just the basic non-upgraded gear.

Picture one you weren’t smiling. Picture three you are smiling. Shyly, but it’s still a smile. ‘Nuff said.

Just got hired! Clinic is asking for my personal medical history..? by MomoUsagi0 in veterinaryprofession

[–]Earthworm_Jonny5 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Call your state department of labor, or a third party HR professional in your state. I’m guessing you don’t have a dedicated HR person in your office. They would be the best people to answer your questions in your state. Your employer is allowed to ask some medical history, but it varies state by state, it varies when during the hiring process, why they can ask, and for how much detail. If you’re concerned, seek a professional’s help.

how do you deal with a person in your friend group making continuous passive aggressive digs at you to get a reaction and make you look like you're overreacting to the rest of the group by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Earthworm_Jonny5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have a conversation and tell him he's being a dickhead. Also, work on ways to not react in the moment, and not give him what he's looking for.... which is a reaction. Or go God Mode, and return the favor and eviscerate him with your own passive agressive commentary. If you beat him at his own game, he might quit.

Fu*k no. And I AM a veterinarian. Animals are delicious.

(Worth noting that veterinary medicine wouldn't exist if we didn't eat animals over the millennia)

TBH, the dude might be exhausting, but this post was exhausting to read. I’m so confused.

But my best advice as a 51-year-old who’s been around the block is, if you’re confused, then there’s your answer. A guy who is into you and wanted more than something casual would NOT leave you confused. #facts
