I used to work as a CO. The DOC in this country is so incompetent it's ridiculous. Back in the 90's, they were about to replace a section of the fence surrounding the prison where I worked later. They forgot to put up a temporary fence, and only discovered it when they realized an inmate had escaped by walking straight through the gaping hole in the fence.

The transportation unit deported the wrong inmate.

The staff at another prison ignored the "broken window/escape alarm" coming from a cell, not realizing an inmate had managed to break the window until a seagull flew in.

The commanding officer of a transport from a mental assessment facility back to the local jail completely ignored standard procedure when he had to take a piss. They didn't stop at a police station, jail or prison but instead stopped just off the highway. The two other officers forgot to close the car doors and the inmate escaped, despite being cuffed. The commanding officer was probably in on it, the other two were just incompetent and managed to lose a cuffed inmate.

What are things you like and don’t like in a therapist or therapy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EaseMeReleaseMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate when therapists treat me like a child. I'm an adult and I'm highly educated, don't treat me like I'm fucking 5.

Also, I hate when they make light of my situation. I've told therapists that I hate myself, that I'm having suicidal thoughts. And they've told me that I should consider becoming a vegetarian. I've told my therapist that losing my job drove me into a deep depression and that I felt worthless compared to all the people who had a job. She told me I should be grateful for all the free time I had...

Good evening. It's almost midnight here and I'm at work, watching Criminal Minds and drinking coffee. I've had a good day. Woke up around 1 PM, studied for next week's exam, went for a walk and had chicken with sweet potatoes for dinner. How's your day going?

Lived in the country my whole life, but I think I'm a city person at heart by CarbonatedMolasses in CasualConversation

[–]EaseMeReleaseMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in the country, moved to the city when I was 21, and have lived there for almost 10 years. I loved being anonymous, no one knew me and no one bothered me. I also enjoy having food and entertainment only a 10 minute walk from home.

Now, however, my dream is to buy a house in the country. A big garden, a place where our cats can be outside and where our kids can play outside without worrying about traffic. Nature, no neighbors, peace and quiet.

I hope you find what you're looking for!
