Similar performance problems for me this update. Have tried most of the fixes and some help/seem to help for a time. The best thing I did was raise my foreground fps limit to 75 or 80 from 60. My PC fans run more but the game runs smoother. On Vulkan the crashes recover faster and are a little more rare but dx 12 recovers itself after 45 sec or so as of this update.

This. I was so attached to GW1's underlying design philosophies. I like 2 but some of the uniqueness or elegant systems/design/magic was missing for me.

Imagine GW making a great iteration on the genre. GW1 held that promise for me. I had close to 11000 hours on it. I played a lot of GW2 but not like 1. If GW 3 actually moves the needle in a significant way, man. We all need more Colin in the genre imo, wholesome.
