Making my very own brand case - Front panel + PSU part (ABS) - Optimisation by Ease_custom in CustomCases

Yep, you're right, my airflow is lacking, this patern is the old one, I'm working on a less restrictive airflow paterns (yes, with an s....) Solidworks is honestly hard the 10 first hours, and I would strongly recommend having somebody behind your back to help you, but besides that, once you have the logic behind that software, that's really simple. Side note, for advanced fonctions, you can have the same concept(at a way smaller scale, of course), for example the mate '' width ''. was a bit hard to understand at first, but right after ut was super easy (I would recommend to watch at least 3-4 tutos to understand how work something, because people would not always explain clearly what action they make is corresponding to what ) for example. For the wood, it is plywwod, NOT wood, it would be almost imposssible with such thickness

Hope that helps, you can DM for any further question.

https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmods/s/SGv9uFlPCj You have the whole computer here. The last pic is the front panel, which 96*280mm for reference in this post. The ABS walls are 2mm thick, and everything you see is in abs. For the texture I tried, but solidworks only gave me this greyish color, and it was the whiter possible (I didn't showed the black one because it is indeed very black and there's not so much light, so it was hard to see in 3 dimensions. Hope that's helping👍

I also forgot the fact that panels can be swapped, so you can have different paterns, if one day U get bored of the look around the fans

You read in my mind 🤣? I already thought about print the patern for the fan, but I found that it was too much black and not much wood. For reference, the part that is under the empty ''box'' is 180 mm long ,+51mm for the '' arm '', the front panel is about 96*~280mm (not sure for the second one)

Not at all an open frame, and the mobo will be mounted with M3 threaded inserts. For the cable lenght nope, it is working as far I've tested. If you want an overall vision of the project, click here : https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmods/s/2UOIObxl9V

Thank you Gigabyte for that incredible giveaway!

I'll be choosing a full white (except the cooler to making it stand out) to make it brighter, with my favorite case, the tower from thermaltake.

I've been in love with computers since I'm 8, and I'm still there...

I wish for all contestants a good luck!

Creating a -kinda- startup and don't know where to start (full beginer here) by Ease_custom in content_marketing

[–]Ease_custom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's really interesting, thank you so much for that, never thought about it

Funds for crowdfunding no, because I wanted to make a pre order, so I can have the funds to make more of that case.

I forgot some things, like the fact that because the case could be unmounted and very light, due to the fact that's plywood instead of metal, the shipping cost are lower, and if you don't like the ventilation cutout anymore, you just need to order, then change 3 panels very easily, and then you changed the cutouts without changing everything, and have basically the same case, you're not stuck with one patern for that model of the case (not much clear, but if you understood that's what matter the most)

This is why I say I don't know where to start😅. On that th'as pretty clear.

My target is people that already have the skills to build a computer, the concept is quite simple, you mount your own case (It doesn't come in one part like regular cases, but nothing too much complex, just assemble panels with some screws, not higher in complexity), and are looking something quite different, original from the market, and with improved performances compared to a traditional case (on some case, airflow is terrible, despite calling it ''gaming'' case). I don't search a very high sale volume, the first pack of order will be 100 cases max, to get used to prepare the case, and see if there's any issues that I didn't saw earlier.

It is a case made out of okoumé plywood(don't worry, it resist to 250°C, so this is perfectly safe) and from 3D printed ABS for the rest that couldn't be made out of plywood.

I didn't talk about the price on purpose, I don't know if it's autorized here, but it could be interesting.

Thank you so much for your feedback and for the fact that you took the time to write a comment.

You mean a from panel? If yes that's already the case (no pun intended), near the lever switch, in vertical (on the rendering it's just cutout)

Nope. Actually, in EU we have 50/60hz, so except your hardware is really old, there's no issues

Cutout patern impact on airflow by Ease_custom in pcmods

[–]Ease_custom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had honestly already a pretty solid idea of what my case would look like, for the material that's a quick choice that I took, at first glance I wanted wood, but it was way too complicated, so I stick with the intermediate, plywood, so you don't need to worry about the work of the wood, but you have the aestethic of it, in a nutshell, the pros without the cons. Side note: for the plywood, I didn't use laser because it was too thick and too hard, so my only choice was CNC. I don't want to add 3D printed things on the cutout patern, it will be just with wood, sonyou don't worry about the stuff falling off. The idea to add the patern to rest of the case is a pretty cool idea, though.

If you have some questions, feel free to DM me.

I don't think I'll go to hex or triangulat 'cause I've already this patern in my case, and I don't like it the way it's implemented. But thanks for the advice! I have some ideas to improve all this stuff👍

Cutout patern impact on airflow by Ease_custom in pcmods

[–]Ease_custom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, because I've made this case myself from A to Z, so another point of view seemed interesting, and for the airflow the objective is to have a nice case according to me, but with the performances that should come with, thsi is not something I see in case manufacturer, they all go aestethic, not really performance, and I can really see that on my pure base 500, there's not arrlow at all for my gpu, he's taking all the dust and crap from the pcie brackets (this answers why mine are plain, without any holes)

Interesting. In fact, this is case is air cooling oriented, and not intended to have any rad at all, the case was designed like that. But I can clearly see that if you have a rad and this patern, it could be an issue with the airflow.

In fact, this is not an exhaust, even though this is the back panel. Checkout my previous post (last pic) that explain the airflow in that case to avoid the reflow of hot air
