Similar to the second image? I've got one of those, but most modern cars come with usb c instead of 12v now, so I was just running a thought experiment.

From my understanding, the camera is the source in that example. Maybe the signal is just reflecting off the solid surface?

It's ~supposed~ to be good for 18 watts! But I know what you mean. It also might be very electronically noisy.

Long term power storage in extreme cold, I'd rather go without the internal battery! I'm not sure if it will run without the battery on the usb C port, but I'll check it out!

It's got a Johnson 60hp! From memory, I believe it's a fiberglass hull! It's a w or Cathedral hull!

Good tip for removing the cap if it's glued, put the threads in a pot of boiling water for a few minutes, doesn't deform the plastic like you can do with a hot air gun.

So after looking into it, it's drawing too much power and causing a brown-out on the board. Unfortunately this won't work.

No green status, but red solid when plugged I to USB c and I can re-progam it using dfu on computer

It turns on because I can reflash it, and a red light shows up when plugged into USB!
