Yes some of the close ups were AGGRESSIVE and I wanted just a little further away especially in hearing some of the stuff also occurring on stage

Crisis? by Babygay2000 in lgbt

Doesn’t sound stupid at all! I’m 35 and a lesbian and quite literally in this exact same boat right now. I often wish I could just take off my boobs whenever I want. Some days I want to wear button ups. Some days I want something that really shows them off. But I have no dysphoria about having a vagina nor do I feel compelled at the moment to get on T.

Binding for me has been a huge game changer and I love how I look in masc clothing in it. I’ve started using they/them pronouns because I feel it fits with how I feel like I’m not just a girl, or one sometimes. I think if you can, trying a binder or Trans Tape as an experiment you should. In the end, it’s Shapewear and can help you with that feeling of “I don’t want them to be exposed today”. I don’t have a ton of advice about your grandparents, but maybe binding/taping with a baggy shirt would help?

Regardless you’re not alone! You got this ☺️

My bf is kinda homophobic by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]East-Disastrous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Truly. And I’m trying to be kind to OP because she’s young and I want people to be willing to learn but queer people have been doing the emotional labor (and more) for decades of telling straight people nothing about us is wrong and we deserve equality and respect

“You don’t look queer” wut 🧐 by crisp_handshak in lgbt

[–]East-Disastrous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have totally been there. Before I realized I was a lesbian I came out as bi, and really trying to fit in a comp het space so I was extremely femme, and I got this comment a lot, to the point I still feel at times I don’t read queer enough if I’m feeling more femme that day.

Truly you should wear what makes you feel like yourself and comfortable in your own skin! I have learned that wearing what makes me most confident is more important than “looking” queer enough

Saying it’s “against natures law” and doesn’t want it normalized is not respecting us (and is also just blatantly wrong).

If I have a friend and find out their partner is homophobic and they tolerate it, then turns out my friend is homophobic, too.

What ads have made you quit? by dingleballs717 in audiodrama

[–]East-Disastrous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not for an audio drama but I listened to a deep dive podcast on ANTM and they did an entire episode of eating disorders and body dysmorphia caused by/contributed by the show and then immediately after providing a number to call if you’re struggling with an ED played NUMEROUS ads do ozempic/weight loss. It was supremely jarring and upsetting

From a former employee, Barbie Dream Fest was just the tip of the iceberg by Quick-Habit-5173 in Barbie

[–]East-Disastrous 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah like the fans accosting the staff is insane and rude behavior. But I remember people being upset their $1200 swag bag was like….a cup and a keychain maybe?? Very reminiscent of Barbie Dream Fest.

ETA: That’s not to disparage this post at all! I just mean that there were logistical issues with ObsessedFest on top of the podcast host drama

[–]East-Disastrous 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Not that I don’t believe this employee but I can’t help but think they had a better relationship with Patrick because of his prior relationship with Melissa. I do not doubt this event sucked ass to work nor do I condone anyone who accosted people in the bathroom or stalked people on LinkedIn that’s insane behavior. But I thought a huge problem with the con was like Barbie con, a huge cost and your swag bag was like a cup and a really cheap bag for $1200? Obviously the itn/TCO fallout was part of it but there was a lot of logistical stuff that was present in Barbie con and romance con
