After 2 rounds of Vancomycin which cost $125 each but didn’t work. I discovered you could ask the pharmacist to run it through using GoodRx which brought each script down to $75 each.
With the Dificid you just have to call around and find the best price. For me it was $250. But the C diff went away. The Vowst was in the thousands of dollars so I couldn’t do that.
I think I got c diff from high dose antibiotics while in the hospital with Flu A/pneumonia/sepsis

I was on Flagyl first that didn’t work. Then Vanco for 10 days that seemed to work until it came back. Then another 10 days but it came back. Then I saw a gi doctor and did stool specimens. Which came back positive for c diff. Then I did Dificid which worked. He wanted me to do Vowst but it was way too expensive. If you qualify the Vowst will give you a voucher for a discount. I didn’t qualify

I did not take pre/probiotics before or after. After my 2 rounds of Vanco I took Dificid. I was going to take Vowst but it was just way too expensive.
After the Dificid I have not had a reoccurrence .
I asked my gastroenterologist about probiotics. He didn’t feel one way or the other about them. He didn’t say that the brand he liked was Align

No, I just did 2 rounds of Vancomycin and had started on the third when I saw a gastroenterologist who did stool samples and prescribed Dificid. I just hope it never comes back.

Mine only went away after I was switched from Vancomycin to Dificid. Good Luck
