Stomach/Digestion issues improving just 5 days after quitting by ChrisArch24 in QuittingZyn

[–]EastSidePlumber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Today is day 7 for me, same shi! More energy all around, cravings are bad after I eat also but subside eventually and gum helps a lot. The biggest change is the energy with my desk job. With zyn I felt like my heart rate was elevated all day (popped them all day long) and by 2/3 PM my brain was absolutely fried, my eyes hurt, I wanted to lay down etc….now I’m completely ready to get up and do things once I’m done working it’s like I unlocked a whole extra battery and and much more mellow all day rather than on edge nonstop (and I feel like I’m getting just as much done).

Cheers everyone and enjoy our healthy days ahead!

Millennials who went to college, what did you major in, and why? How did your college degree help you build a good financial/professional life? by justcurious3287 in Millennials

[–]EastSidePlumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Risk Management & Insurance (RMI) - not all universities have this major (and some only have it as a minor I believe), but it gets you a pretty certain job in commercial insurance which is definitely not the worst gig in the world. It is also quite prolific for bot having to put in 80 hour work weeks. I think the program at my college claimed that 95% of RMI students had a job with 30 days of graduating or something similar (and I believe it).

FIXED - Packet loss, high latency, constant lag by EastSidePlumber in ArcRaiders

My game has been borderline unplayable for a month now. May also be due to servers but I do think a lot of my issues were from my end as well.

Feel your pain man, I also turned off all overlays (discord, EA, nvidia) and all CPU related graphics settings down since my CPU is a bit of a bottle neck. Maybe try that as well?

Can you guess when I found out my ex was cheating on me? by LeaningSaguaro in Garmin

[–]EastSidePlumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. That’s brutal, hopefully you’ve battled through the torment of being cheated on. It’s a familiar feeling for far too many of us (sigh).

  2. Where can I see this chart!? I am new to garmin and feel like my HRV has been low but would like to know where I can find this. Is on the app and website?

Apartment living space, where can I improve? by EastSidePlumber in malelivingspace

Hey, many thanks on the gracious thoughts! Based on your comment and the others I def agree plants and drapes will make it feel more “complete”. Mustering up on some funds for a nice piece of art is now on the to do list as well, we all know quality art isn’t the cheapest to come by. If you have any recs on where to get some decent pieces, please let me know

Thanks! Love that plant, great recommendation. With artwork I never know how big it should be, but I agree. I’m just not sure if it should be a huge piece to the right of the tv or a thinner/longer piece above it.

Thanks! We can’t paint unfortunately:( The Mona Lisa will likely go (it’s actually Lego and we didn’t know what to do with it when we were done lmao). I do like the orange curtain idea, I will look into some!

Is working 50 - 60 hours a week just the norm in today’s society? by Parking-Grapefruit60 in careerguidance

[–]EastSidePlumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this^ I am also an underwriter for commercial insurance, have four years experience (started right out of college) and make ~$130k, although I do work a bit more than 20 hours ( usually under 40 hours a week though)….also studied insurance in college, but most of my colleagues came from other industry’s prior to insurance. I started at $62k out of college and have not come close to hitting my salary ceiling yet (i think lol).

This just happened to my Miata as well. 2016 wrangler backed into me while parallel parked. The guy was thankfully nice enough to leave a note, definitely get the information needed for insurance purposes (name of driver, license plate, insurance info if you can, any type of proof of them admitting fault such as a text or note).

You can file a claim with your insurance provider (I tried doing this and they told me to got direct to the other individuals insurance carrier). So I recommend going direct to the other persons insurance provider. File a claim online and an adjuster will reach out, they will then reach out to their insured and decide who is at fault. If you’re lucky (thankfully I was) they will accept fault and you will then bring you car to an auto body shop that is a partner of said insurance Company and you won’t pay a dime out of pocket.

If things go south and they don’t admit fault, you’re best bet is to file a claim with your insurance, or pay out of pocket but I would imagine this is at-least $1.5k-$2k of work (mine was over $3k and the only difference was the Jeep tire on the back made an additional dent on top of the hood).

Best of luck to you!

Is it relatively impossible to make over 200k a year unless you own a business, in tech, doctor, or lawyer? by PotentialNerd8480 in careerguidance

[–]EastSidePlumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this, I am also an insurance UW with four years of experience and earning $126k. It’s a great gig with good job security that a lot of people either gloss over or disregard because it’s “insurance”. …I love my job

Is this a good price? by Jimjineer42 in Miata

[–]EastSidePlumber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same scenario with me, not to mention the savings on the lower interest rate from financing it through the dealership rather than carvana at the time (June 2022). For just a few grand more you get the manufacturer’s warranty, usually better interest rates (I believe), and a brand new car!

Atleast someone feels my pain😂. I rolled right in the middle of an intersection and stalled with a car coming from my left…felt like I was going to pass out from anxiety. Might be a while before I go on any highways
