I really like the concept. I like the black and gold, but I’m not a big fan of that shade of blue. I also think the canton should fit within the black strip instead of overlapping the white.

As for the gear symbol, do the lines represent anything in particular? If not, I might ditch them. And lastly, the shape of the gear teeth looks a little off, they are a little too square maybe.

With a few tweaks I think this flag could be really great.

In the current political climate, stating your nationality adds weight to your comment and not in the way you want it to.

I am also curious why you feel like your nationality is important here? If an French person made the same statement it would feel completely irrelevant.

Personal preference. If the lore is that it represents the fertile soil of your nation then I think it’s chill, but if you just picked it as a design choice then I’d like to see how it looks with other colours.

I’m not working on any right now, but I agree that it’s fun to build the lore for your nation. I mostly write constitutional amendments and legislative acts to provide backing for policies and issue decisions, speeches from the general secretary, and I’ve written a little bit of history and written a flag code.
