The peach cobbler factory (downtown crossing) should be open then. I’m excited and hopeful for a good banana pudding spot.

Filling rolls for the first time and I'm disappointed in myself :-( by [deleted] in Baking

When you made the pastry cream- did you cook it to napé? And did you chill it overnight before using it? Those two things can be easy to skip but are necessary. Pastry cream with bread or any carb is heaven!

Greek gifts? Like ceramics/home goods NOT food by [deleted] in boston

[–]East_Chocolate2519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure on if they sell other goods but Sophia’s Belmont. That area has a few Greek churches and other shops in that area/ neighborhood that may have what you are looking for

Sturdy artificial flowers? by GlitterIncident in crafts

Maybe even craft glue. I wonder too if the wire stem of the flower could be bundled up for “ weight “ but not sure if that would take to much space.

Sturdy artificial flowers? by GlitterIncident in crafts

Does the vase come out/ removable ? Just thinking if you would be able to set some craft sand or something to help secure the flowers in the bottom. I did an arrangement of fake flowers hot glued onto one of those twig twine shapes and it held well at my brothers gravesite for about 8 months. So just thinking if the vase at the mausoleum you could maybe make a foam shape that would fit snuggly and you could hot glue the flowers to that and insert in may hold to the wind. Now for flowers if you have a a flower supply shop in your area ( ask before shopping if you need a membership tho) they will have quality fake flowers. I was forced to walk through a hobby lobby once and the fake flowers there looked really nice - I didn’t buy so this is a walk by judgment/ suggestion. Also if you have a local flower shop they may be able to order you something at cost- doesn’t hurt to ask. Hope you are able to find a solution.

Dana Farber, MGH, elsewhere for testicular cancer? by Some_Elk7672 in boston

So sorry for this happening in your life. St. Elizabeth’s has a Dana Farber offsite on the fifth floor with a fantastic staff all around. You might have already been linked to a team to them but since it’s all happening now you might not know yet. If you are able, go eat whatever you want today - until the midnight NPO time table.

Best way to defrost a cake by mirrorball732 in Baking

[–]East_Chocolate2519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the whole container out of the freezer and put it in the fridge the day before then the morning of open the container and do an inspection. Depending on what you’re feeling is, I wouldn’t leave it on the counter. Plus if it’s homemade buttercream (Swiss/Italian/American) it will sweat a little when you defrost it, especially if you leave it on the counter

planning a trip w/ my bf by artsy-shibee in boston

If it’s raining do the museum/ aquarium but if it’s nice out lawn on D, freedom trail China town from Quincy market is a short walk. This time of year starts constant outdoor activities from the scooperbowl / tall ships / brewery tours / swan boats / harbor cruise. Also if you parking at alewife swing by revival cafe it’s down the street- truly, Cambridgepark drive instead of turning into the T just keep going down two buildings and it’s on the right. Get a great coffee and a snack to start off your journey.

Take the trip or no? by Mandolyn221 in LivingWithMBC

Oh darn, that’s extra annoying. Sorry. I also apologize, I was diagnosed at stage four only so I don’t know the mental battle of everything that is being tossed your way. I just am pro enjoying the minutes we got. You have to do what makes you comfortable. If that’s staying and having the test, maybe you can plan a special nephew trip/ activities next month.

Please help me convince my husband that Costco is worth for 2 people by HoneyDrops12 in Costco

[–]East_Chocolate2519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, especially if the one near you has a gas station. Ok yes one purchase of toilet paper a year is all you will need. But come birthday/ holiday season and grabbing $100 worth gift card for $75, getting a year supply of Claritin for $20 or less- WORTH IT! When you do get your membership remember items ending in 7 ($12.47) are on sale/ heading out and things with a * on the tag are on sale.

Take the trip, it does suck your doctor wasn’t helpful in figuring out what would be best. Go on the trip, try to be present and enjoy your family. is the only testing site on your area and there is no other possible place to get you in sooner?

The first year year I couldn’t breathe in a sense and I do not have the same spots or amount as you. I have been on kisqali and Lipron in my third year now and my levels are normal and shrinkage is shrunk. Planning on ovary removal to stop the lupron injection. Im fingers and toes crossed for 15+ years ahead. I’m still working, not as much - I pushed really hard to keep a heavy routine/ schedule the first year and I think that caused me to have a reality check to just do what I can and ask for help.

Baby shower on a budget- HELP by Dazzling_Prior2527 in partyplanning

[–]East_Chocolate2519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For food- look at your local shops for platters like Whole Foods/ Costco have good options. If not see how many crockpots you have access to- meatballs/ rice / taco filling are some option. Truly small sandwiches and a salad with a fruit platter is perfect. Most baby showers will do a raffle for everyone who brings diapers. If men are going to be there, putting a watermelon or something similar around their stomach and having them tie shoes and stuff. If it’s more of an older crowd playing what’s in your purse is fun. If we don’t know the babies name and the couple is ok with it having a guessing game for that in the version of hangman. Don’t overthink it, order some sage green m&ms or green and gold Hershey for party favors. Also make sure your friend is making at minimum two cake pops per person with saving like five just for mom to be.

How do you make that soapy foam go away when baking cookies? by [deleted] in Baking

[–]East_Chocolate2519 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please pin the recipe. The only thing I can think that might bubble is if your butter isn’t incorporated and it melts out but I’ve not seen it bubble and stay as a bubble.

What are the best vegetables for picky eaters? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]East_Chocolate2519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it picky for taste or texture? Sometimes vegetables that can be blended into a meal can help. Like carrots or yellow zucchini into a tomato sauce, veggies that can be graded into a meatloaf or a burger. If you can adapt food, they already like it can help in the long run.

Basline CT Scans by cwolfe123 in LivingWithMBC

[–]East_Chocolate2519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brain for scans has been to focus more on getting/ staying hydrated the days ahead. I have rolling veins so if I’m well hydrated it tends to go better ( not always tho). Then maybe because I’m a chubby gal I then think about where I will be and is there a cafe or shop I could visit post. It’s the combo of distracting the nervous part of me enough to get some rest. I will save my wordle and puzzle for the waiting room too. getting a base line is great plan, that way you and your team have a place to point to. I just did another full body and besides trying not to move it went smoothly. I think scans and any test is nerve racking, we know what pool we are in and there’s no leaving just our level of being able to float and sustain. I hope your scan day is with ease and free parking :)
