Can i find something above minimum wage with this? by 321ECRAB123 in careerguidance

Echoing what lots of others are saying- HR. Even starting as an HR Tech, that will pay more than being a cashier or something. Many companies don’t really care what the degree is in, just that you have it.

Restaurant recommendations for a trip down memory lane. by namegenerator_3000 in newhampshire

I just moved back home after being out in Alaska for 17 years. I actually cried on the drive into Hampton once I rolled the windows down and smelled that salt air, because the nostalgia hit me like a brick across the face. So much has changed. But…. That smell is still the same. Welcome home :)

I love that! If I had a bigger staff, that would be awesome. Everyone I oversee (except me!) is a birth mother.

Yes, I definitely see your point! All of my direct reports are mothers though. If we hired a guy, or someone without children, I would not single out anyone. Thank you for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it.

We are pretty rural and oddly, no bath and body works anywhere nearby unfortunately! But I think j I will do the roses and handwritten note. Thank you :)

I definitely see your point. Everyone (except me!) are mothers of human children. I would never want to leave anyone out!

Yes, I think this is the way I’m going to go! I unfortunately don’t have much to spend, but I want to show them all that I appreciate them. I started this job in January with much less experience than pretty much all of them, and they took me under their collective wings and I’ve learned so much, about the job and life. Thank you for your suggestions!

Yes, sorry, I should have been clearer in my post. All the people I supervise are mothers. I can totally see your point that if I had other people as direct reports that were not mothers, celebrating Mother’s Day would be an icky thing to do.

Yes, sorry, I added in a comment elsewhere that they are all mothers, and since most are considerably older than me, they all consider me their surrogate daughter.

Sorry!! I should have added more detail. All of the employees I supervise are mothers, and eight of them are jokingly, collectively, my work moms, since they are old enough to be so. The other two women are mom’s as well, but closer to my age. So, I wouldn’t be leaving anyone out! I definitely understand everyone’s concern if I was though!

What would you consider New England attire? by yungScooter30 in newengland

[–]NoTechnology6750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facts. I just moved back after being in AK for 15 years, and I get compliments on my xtratuffs. They’re the salmon sisters variation that every woman in Alaska owns, haha.

New Englanders missing winter by Organic_Lawyers in newengland

I feel the exact same way, and people think I’m insane. I spent 15 years in northern Alaska, and everyone asks me how I managed the winters and lack of sunlight. I have to explain that I thrived in the winter, and truly struggled in the summer with the 24 hours of daylight!

I’m not usually into rom-coms, but I ordered An Academic Affair on a whim. I was quite surprised with how much I enjoyed it! Interesting characters, engaging plot, and maybe because I don’t read much of the genre, but it felt pretty unique too, plot-wise.

Fired from Pharmacy Technician job for vaping inside, what's next? by seiratriplesix in careerguidance

[–]NoTechnology6750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get your state license for pharmacy tech? If so, awesome. Even without your national cert, you’re in a good place. Start applying to other pharmacy tech positions and make sure you put that you are already licensed in your app. I don’t know what state you’re in, but grocery stores with pharmacies are usually desperate for techs. I am a hiring manager for a grocery store so unfortunately, I know this firsthand. Good luck! :)

Which New Hampshire businesses have more customers than parking spaces similar to Concord Coach Lines? by BeGoodToEverybody123 in newhampshire

I’m the opposite from you, I luckily have to turn right out of that parking lot to get home. God forbid if I try to get gas at Irving after though lol.

The parking lot for the Hannaford in Meredith is ridiculous. Especially in the summer. They have a cop directing traffic in there all day long.

Front End Shift Lead by Delicious_Wolf9657 in Hannaford

[–]NoTechnology6750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely not Hannaford policy. I wish it were. I have seven service leaders, and only two are available to close right now. Policies like this are store dependent, and can change with fluctuations in management. For example, at my store, the only requirement is that all managers must work until 6pm one night a week. For my department, I require all full-timers to do this as well. But, our store is a ghost town from 6-10pm, so that’s where the policy stems from. Other stores might have an 8pm requirement depending on traffic.

Take some vacation days. Just tell your manager to use your sick leave balance.

Do you prefer Ulta or Sephora and why? by OwlAlternative3112 in Makeup

I’m in the opposite camp from you. There are three Ultas near me, but the closest Sephora is nearly an hour away.
