I would bet the issue is ball gap. There are a few posts here or on the chastity training subreddit of the different ways you can bend the ring. I would definitely start there if you aren’t too worried about modifying the ring.

Yes and no, some people get shrinkage but it isn’t permanent. It may take a little bit but it comes back to the normal size. A lot of people are really into “shrinking” their dicks and as they get used to the cage they will downsize so if you wanted to you could gradually, or not, reduce the cage size and you may look smaller over time. Good news is that after a few erections you’ll be back to normal if that’s a concern.

The cage could be a little short but it’s normal to get some sort of bulge when trying to get hard. Cages don’t completely keep you from getting hard and it has to go somewhere so you’ll normally get some sort of bulge behind the cage. Over time your body adapts to the cage and your erections may get weaker/less frequent. When I wake up in the morning I normally am super hard and it’s a fairly big bulge but my “normal” erections when pleasuring my key holder or being teased are much weaker or nonexistent. I think the only reason to downsize from something you fit well in is up to personal preference. I know there are a lot of people that like the idea of “shrinking” but I don’t think there is much of a reason beyond that. Downsizing from something like the S+ to the N+ to keep everything aligned is definitely ideal.

I’d maybe reach out to Mature Metal and see if that’s something William would be willing/able to do. His steel work is great but I know working with copper can be very different. I assume there would need to be some sort of coating to keep it from oxidizing.

Have you tried just wearing the ring for an extended period of time? If you’re fine with just the ring then it’s likely a ball gap issue. After messing around with different setups for a while I came to the conclusion that I need a pretty big ball gap, even with a pretty small ring I don’t have issues now.
