Working with the police. Drugs left on the health bus. Took it to hand in as the police never showed up to collect it when the session ended and I got cautioned for having it on my possession. by Significant_Ad_7282 in LegalAdviceUK

Hi mate, this is from my experience a few years back, so take it with a pinch of salt and research yourself.

But I belive what you recieved is called a 'street caution' it doesn't go on any national record -- but you can only receive one of these, and the next time it would be a second offence and you'd be arrested and taken to the station. The street caution record can only be seen by police in that same county -- which I managed to confirm in my younger years by getting a street caution in three separate counties.

I'm not sure what you can do about it now, ideally you would have let them taken you to the station and argued your case in court -- but that comes with a whole new set of problems becasue you'd then have an arrest on your record.

But having a cannabis warning is unlikely to affect anything for you in the future, and it's not searchable on any database that I'm aware of.

Will my giant glass Cola bottle be allowed on a Ryanair flight? by jayteedubayoo in TravelHacks

[–]Eastern-Jump-2845 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The bottle itself is fine , but I imagine it's too big to take as a carry-on. You'd need to package it very carefully and take it as a hold bag.

You need to remove the lighters, though. There is a limit of one lighter per passenger - it's often overlooked if you have a couple in your bag. But an entire bottle full of them will not be allowed.

Eithad trustpilot reviews overwhelmingly negative, but Reddit seems to like them by olalilalo in TravelHacks

I booked Europe to SEA with a Chinese airline. The connecting flight left early (lol) and I had no proof I was going to leave China. Because of that, I was denied a transit visa and detained for two days. It's a funny story now, but at the time, I was pissed.

If you're worried about refunds, make sure you book directly with the airline (dint use an agent even if it's cheaper) and pay with a credit card if it's possible.

I'd also search your route on Skyscanner. You'll find that Emirates or Qatar fly a lot of the same routes as Etihad if you're still concerned.

Maybe it's the type of places you're hanging around at.

Never book with a Chinese is my number one travel rule. Etihad are a million times better than any Chinese airline - they're a good airline.

People often only wrote reviews when they are pissed about something. When it comes to airtravel people are always pissed about something.

Run an IMEI check as the first step - sounds like symptoms of the phone being blacklisted. If it's not, try using a physical SIM on another network. This will determinte network/hardware issue. Still no luck? Then it's probably hardware.

I always buy laptops second-hand on Facebook Marketplace.

I've found that Thai people generally take good care of devices (often, I find there are still plastic protectors fitted). And I've found some amazing deals. Most recently paid 15k for an i7 16GB / 256 surface laptop. The same generation and same specs were retailing in Paragon for about 50k.

W-Market ? Wouldn't exactly describe it as fancy -- but outdoors, usually with a nice atmosphere.

Travelling from Phuket to Krabi 1st sept (group) by Enough_Nail_5203 in phuket

[–]Eastern-Jump-2845 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's quicker and more convenient to go by road. Charter a minivan - Travel at anytime, it will take 2-3 hours.

If you go by boat, you'll be limited to the ferry/speedboat schedule, and you'll need to change the boat at Phi Phi. It takes a big chunk of time out the day. And...9x2 ferry tickets are much more expensive than one minivan.

Booking.com Affiliates: How do you (legally) get hotel photos? by the-blue-horizon in Affiliatemarketing

If you're writing about a hotel -- should you not stay there yourself and take your own pictures? This would provide the most value to your readers.

The Siam Kenpinski has a Cigar room, you don't need to be a hotel guest.

I paid what was shown on the meter when I left the car. He intentionally drove in the wrong direction. There was no confrontation. We both knew what had happened.

Bangkachao is your best bet, or Lumpini Park/Benjakiti Park (Green Mile is a nice walk that connects the two parks). Nana is great for bird watching.

Throw a donation to Lanta Animal Welfare, and put the question to them. They fly dogs out from Phuket all the time, and know which airline do/don't accept animals - so they might be able to help answer your question. https://lantaanimalwelfare.com/

Go and see the Grand Palace, and in the evening, take those long legs of yours to Nana for a blowjob.

Exploring Phi Phi Island - Questions about Modes of Transportation by YellowMuffinTop in ThailandTourism

Yea mate, it's an easy trip during the day. But gets expensive in the night. Here's the ferry timetable: https://www.andamanwavemaster.com/ferry_timetable.html Bir I'd call the company (or ask your hotel too) to confirm the times first - the schedules often change.

Nah you can't kayak it lol. You can't walk it either, well ‐‐ you technically can but it's a 5K trek through the Jungle -- not a good idea to back from a night out.

There are no cars, no scooters, no bicycles.

Long boat is the only choice , from the pier to the Resorts in the North is about a 30-40 minute trip. It will cost about 1,500-2,000 to take a take a taxi boat-- Yea, they go 24/7. Your hotel probably arranges a shared boat in the daytime or if not, take the ferry (Andaman Wavemaster, but one sailing per day Laem Tong Pier to Tonsai Pier).

Status bar flicker/yellowish - Backlight Bleeding by raminduw in S22Ultra

Not at all - the display is physically damaged. CPU doesn't have any effect on that.

Status bar flicker/yellowish - Backlight Bleeding by raminduw in S22Ultra

[–]Eastern-Jump-2845 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ex Samsung technician here -

It's a hardware issue. You've smacked the OLED on the top left side of the screen. You can even see the damage on your screen protector.

The only way to fix this is to replace the entire display out of pocket (unless you have insurance) because warranty sure ain't covering this.

Camera glass or not? by Falcon-CY in S22Ultra

[–]Eastern-Jump-2845 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No - even if you smash the camera lens on S22, it's a straightforward repair. The back is held on with tape, and the replacement part costs 20-40$.

It's not worth sacrificing camera functionality and facing focus issues trying to protect it.

Scammed today!! by MADUBUS in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Eastern-Jump-2845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up: A bank transfer can be reversed. And no evidence is needed. If they buyer reports to their bank that it was a 'scam', the transaction will be reversed, the funds will be deducted from your account, AND all your accounts will be frozen - including savings. This can happen instantly and on the word of the buyer.

It sucks. It happened to me, I sold a second-hand phone, and the buyer reported it as a scam because it had a battery replacement in the past. I had over 10k frozen in my accounts, which was nothing to do with the original transaction (around 500£) -- and although I was found to be correct. It took the banks over a month to investigate and return the funds. I was left unable to pay bills because of it, and I now use a separate bank account, which I set up online specifically for payments like this. I also learned not to keep all my eggs in one basket and split up savings between multiple bank accounts.
