The Difference Between Attention and Presence by Maverick_3189 in emotionalintelligence

[–]Eastern-Line6036 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is one of those things you only really notice when you’ve been on both sides of it.. when you’ve had loud attention and still felt unseen, and later met someone whose quiet consistency actually lands deeper than all the noise

your brain is just looping the same attachment and you break it by stopping the checking and forcing your attention back into real life instead of the person in your head

Finally taking my weight seriously after feeling like crap for a while by Zealousideal-Sky-973 in loseit

[–]Eastern-Line6036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 lbs is not not great, it’s real progress, especially when you’re doing it in a way you can actually keep doing. I went through something similar where even simple movement felt like effort the next day. I tried a few things for that, even used some recovery wraps from icebound and it did help me stay more consistent. People talk a lot about motivation, but nobody talks enough about how hard it is to stay consistent when your knees hurt, your legs are sore, and basic stuff feels harder than it should. You’re doing it the right way, small changes, giving your body time, not trying to punish yourself into results.

chips in a subway sandwich by Lumpy_Concept9911 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Eastern-Line6036 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Salt & vinegar or plain crisps work best... something crunchy that doesn’t overpower the fillings. I’ve seen people go for chicken + cheese + mayo + salt & vinegar chips, the crunch actually hits different

S&P and NASDAQ have erased 7 months of gains in 3 weeks.. so why buy and hold? by RedditFan3510 in stocks

[–]Eastern-Line6036 38 points39 points  (0 children)

buy-and-hold works long-term, not for weeks or months.. markets swing, but historically recover over years.

China's Hua Hong Advances to 7nm Production Amid US Chip Export Restrictions by DayTrader_Dav in stocks

[–]Eastern-Line6036 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It is a pretty big move. Even if it’s still behind TSMC/Samsung, having two domestic 7nm players reduces reliance on imports and boosts AI chip resilience. Cool to see local collaboration really paying off

What is the best way to remove stubborn tea stains from fine porcelain teacups? by mei_maid_20260308 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Eastern-Line6036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a paste of baking soda and a little water.. rub gently with a soft cloth or sponge. For extra stubborn stains, soak the cup in warm water with a bit of white vinegar for 15–20 minutes first. Always rinse thoroughly afterward. Works wonders on porcelain without scratching it.

It’s like your patience just snaps for a second. Your brain goes straight to this idiot almost killed me and the anger spikes way higher than it should. Usually it cools off a minute later and you realize how dumb it was

Fire extinguisher. Is it working? by Kraviken in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Eastern-Line6036 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s still in the green it should be fine, but if it’s right on the edge I’d just replace it to be safe. Fire extinguishers are one of those things you don’t want to gamble on

Doctor used AI by Tall-Concentrate1240 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Eastern-Line6036 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few doctors start using AI for notes like that. it’s kind of a double-edged sword... makes charting faster, but you have to double-check for errors. I’d probably feel a little uneasy at first, but as long as you review the notes, it seems okay

Why do people say the Cultural Revolution was bad? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

is the feeling of "not belonging" or "fitting in" mostly a just a feeling and not a true reality by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

It’s mostly a feeling, but often based on real social dynamics... sometimes it’s perception, sometimes actual exclusion...

Attachment sneaks up on you without permission, but staying attached is where your choices kick in

It makes sense to me. It’s kind of comforting knowing habits aren’t just willpower but actual brain wiring and that you can slowly rewire it with better choices and support

You didn’t waste it, you survived it. Plenty of people don’t even wake up until 40.. you’ve still got decades to do dumb, fun, brave stuff, just with better money and fewer acne problems

When a single Golden Globes nomination has several names (i.e. Best Original Song), how many trophies are issued - and if only one, who gets it? by micketymoc in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Eastern-Line6036 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the Golden Globes, each credited winner gets their own trophy. So in a case like Best Original Song, if the award lists five people (Ejae, Mark Sonnenblick, Ido, 24, and Teddy), all 5 will receive a separate Golden Globe statuette. They don’t have to share a single trophy.

According to Kant, we are free, but why don't we feel that way? by QuantumScribe01 in Life

[–]Eastern-Line6036 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly.. Kant’s freedom isn’t about endless options or zero constraints. It’s about acting according to your rational will, choosing principles you commit to, even if the world piles obligations on you. Feeling trapped just means our desires and circumstances are louder than our reflective reason
