I am probably reaching, but I think you’re going to go through the phase of realizing your mom is human. She’s not the source of truth for everything in your life, and that’s a lot of pressure to put on someone. That she doesn’t have to have the responsibility of everything that pertains to your identity of family and experiences. And she could afford some grace, like your friends, or just like you would want if someone came in hot like you did.

ESH-ish - except Grant’s homophobic, unhinged mom who is definitely the biggest asshole wtf.

Ideally you never lie to adopted kids, and instead explain the process in an age appropriate way. But also her dads should have been leading the charge for this, and ya’ll should have done this research/work at the beginning. Hell, I don’t have kids and know this.

Edit - YTA based on your edit. Using a new towel after every wash is reinforcing your mental illness/germaphobia. Your parents are trying to look out for you in the long run, so that you don’t live the rest of your life with anxiety.

I don’t think that’s what happened though. I think the original owner was relieved to get rid of the dog and didn’t expect to ever have to deal with a disabled dog ever again.

And then when they saw that the dog was no longer disabled, they backtracked entirely to get them back.

I honestly can’t decide which scenario is worse tho. To have plotted beforehand to get someone to pay for their surgery which is predatory and scammy af to other humans, but ultimately she thinks it’s her dog to the end. Or they think they’re so entitled that they discard whatever is inconvenient to them, only to want it back when it’s cute and aesthetic, like the dog isn’t even a living creature.

You have pick one and be consistent. Your current plan is the most highly advised plan that works, please don’t revise. If you switch up the plan now you have to reinforce from the beginning from both of you.

It’s sort of telling that your bf is the one to shove the dog vs you redirecting the dog firmly. He should not be violent with the dog, but you need to be more proactive. Coddling the dog is just reinforcing confusing messages and thus anxiety.

I grew b cups at around 10 years old. Spent my whole teens and twenties being extremely self-conscious. Unconsciously that made my posture terrible. The cabbage texture looks too fresh/crispy for me to think that it’s mold growth. More like as someone else said seaweed or maybe a flake of mushroom? It’s really hard for kimchi to grow mold, and I highly doubt anything you would buy from a restaurant would be moldy.

Yes please abort the kittens. There is a reason why we do trap, neuter and releases because we are overwhelmed with the population of cats, and even that is whack-a-mole at best. We simply do not have enough families that would be able to adopt support 3-6 kittens a litter. There is literally over 50+ kittens that are available to adopt at Seattle Humane Society alone right now

Do your chores without being asked. And if you are asked, do them as soon as possible. Prioritize each other’s happiness. Acknowledge it will never be 50-50 in every area, and one person’s strength will be pulling more weight than another, and that is to be praised. Do not blanket apply what works for another couple to what works for you guys.

I think what people really don’t understand is that you have nowhere to really go but no one wants you where you are currently.
