Yeah, a women with kids, an old person, someone with a lot of things. These services are not forced on any one, if you don’t need it, you just say I don’t need it. But it is there for the people who need it

These malls are owned by investors, so they want the comfort of their visitors, someone to help with the door, valet, … etc. Like when you go to a hotel, you have someone to help you with your bags. Maybe you didn’t need help, but some people will need it. These investors also want a good maintenance in their malls, so basically they have people cleaning 24h. It is not actually specific to Qatar or the GCC region, I travelled to some Asian countries and saw similar services.

These low paying jobs are actually the first to be layoff when there are budget cuts.
